    Activities i am interested in:

I am currently visiting my family in Southern India, spending time with my grandmothers and cousins' children, and attending a Kundalini yoga course, writing, and reconnecting with my cultural arts.

  • Description

I'm 26 years old, and a multidisciplinary artist/jack-of-all trades, but master of a few! I'm drawn to stewardship of the green Earth that gave us life. I have tended to community farms and gardens for the last two years.

I love poetry and music (especially folk music and performance), and sharing poetry and music in community with others, as a singer and multi-instrumentalist musician. I play the piano, the violin, the guitar, and am learning classical southern Indian instruments. I am also a teacher of theater arts, an actor, and a technical worker, with skills in staging and production of large-scale performance events.

I have worked and have skills as a photojournalist/a photographer, a creative writer, visual artist, and a bike mechanic. I love to ride bikes, climb trees, and maintain physical fitness, and recently started working as a prep and line cook in the restaurant industry, adding to my strength and grittiness. I have worked in just about every field and have traveled indepedently since I was a teenager, so I am very adaptable, and committed to discipline, and consistency, as a self-starter. I have thick skin and strong bones, and value direct communication, critical thinking, and constructive criticism. I am easy going but a hard worker, comfortable with both following and leading. As a speaker of several languages, and a student of Italian literature, I adore cultural exchange.

  • More details about your skills

I am a creative writer, a photojournalist, an actor, and an events producer and organizer, working in technical production to manage or organize immersive performances and large-scale fundraiser events. I am also a working cook, specializing in Southern Indian, Southern Italian, and Levantine cuisines.

I am a Teaching Artist focusing on theatre arts, but with experience in teaching music and instrumental skills with the violin, and literary and visual arts skills. I specialize in adapting adult level physical theater technique to students' ages.

I am a multi-instrumentalist, with skills in the piano, the violin, the carnatic classical Indian Veena and Mridangam (southern Indian string instrument and drum), the voice, and the French horn (the next on my list, wooden Indian flute and alto saxophone).

As a student of the respective Jacques LeCoq and Michael Chekhov physical theatre techniques, I can match children at their physical energy level and meet all ages where they are at in terms of confidence, excitement, openness, and skill levels.

I am a singer and a songwriter, adept at cultivating, harnessing, and spreading the joy of music, of movement arts, of multilingual poetry, with children and elders alike. I am a multidisciplinary artist, freelancing in multiple modes: acting for play readings and theatrical productions, production assistance for immersive performance events, photography and newly videography for a wedding recently, and performances. Along with physical theatre and yoga, I enjoy playing and photographing basketball. I am handy with bike repairs, and growing in my gardening and mechanical knowledge.

  • What else ...

One of my disciplines as a working artist that I have most recently engaged is culinary arts. I am a working cook as well as a culinary artist, specializing in Southern Indian, Southern Italian, and Levantine cuisines. As an experimental and performance artist, I've also recently incorporated clown into my practice, with a well-reviewed debut last November.

My practice in clown was preceded by a nascent stand-up comedy practice which is also off to a strong, if sporadic, start. I am interested to explore and further immerse myself in the worlds of hyperlocal dance and folk theatre during travels, with a particular interest in puppet theatre and mask work. Physical theatre, acrobatics, yoga, and meditation are all part of my mindfulness practice.

I love chess more than any other board games but am always open to learning. I am an animal lover, a human lover, and aspiring filmmaker. An avid reader.
