Hi! I’m Rohit.
I’m a researcher in genomics and biophysics, currently taking a break before starting my new job. I'm based in New York, and will soon be traveling to Munich, Germany, where I lived before moving to the US.

I love exploring new places, meeting people from different backgrounds, and picking up new skills along the way. I'm happiest when working with my hands—whether it's cooking, gardening, DIY projects, or helping out with general maintenance. I also really love animals and would be more than happy to help care for them.

I'm a quick learner, open-minded, and always ready to lend a hand wherever needed. I’ll be available from April to June (and possibly longer), and I’m excited to contribute while experiencing life in a new place.

I'm keen on learning new languages and improving the ones I already know. While I have extensive experience in biomedical labs, I'd prefer to take a break from that during my travels.
I've done various hands-on tasks, including minor repairs, carpentry, and plenty of gardening—growing vegetables, herbs, and some fruits. I also have a lot of experience pet-sitting, mostly for cats and dogs, but also for bunnies, chickens, and rodents.
During university, I tutored to support myself and still enjoy teaching science and math. I get along great with kids and helped care for my 4 year old nephew.

What else ...

I’ve traveled extensively—mostly backpacking or road-tripping—and I’m always looking for the next adventure. I love being active and outdoors, and I enjoy playing sports like football and volleyball. I’m also into adventure sports and have tried skydiving, jet skiing, and white-water rafting—always up for trying something new! When I’m not on the move, I enjoy playing chess (happy to share a few tips!) and hanging out with friends over board games or card games. I’m very social and love good conversation, especially over food or drinks. Fun fact: I used to do competitive trivia—though in the age of Google, that might be becoming a lost art!
