Description

Hello everyone! We are Rachele and Mirko, both from Siena, Tuscany. I am 31 years old and have a degree in law. I work for a public institution, but I am also studying to become a criminal mediator. I am the oldest of a brother and two younger sisters, with whom I am very close, so I am used to and inclined toward sharing. I have been playing volleyball since I was 12, and through this sport, I have learned the importance and value of teamwork, commitment, and determination. Mirko is 36, holds a degree in biotechnology, and works in a pharmaceutical company. Shortly after finishing university, he opened a restaurant because he has always had a passion (and talent) for cooking. We both have strong personalities and value our ideas, but there is great communication between us, and when this leads to discussions, we talk until we find common ground. We love our city and are very attached to our land, but we are also curious and eager to challenge ourselves, to discover cultures and places different from what we are used to, while respecting them. I have already had an experience in Sweden through Workaway, and it was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Specifically, I transported, cut, and stacked firewood, worked in the garden weeding, picked blackberries, and helped around the house. But most importantly, I built a precious bond with the family that hosted me and with the other Workawayers. For these reasons, I would love for Mirko to experience the same emotions I felt, and I am excited to share new ones with him. I believe this is the most authentic and profound way to travel and be enchanted by the world. We live in the city, but we also dream of a life immersed in nature, where we can slow down and rediscover ourselves. We love animals, especially horses, because of the deep connection between our city and these incredible creatures. We can’t wait to meet those who will welcome us!

I love children, and I believe I’m good at connecting with them and making them feel as comfortable as they make me feel. Since I was a little girl, I’ve taken care of my three younger siblings; I’ve also worked as a babysitter and as a volleyball coach, where I taught them teamwork and encouraged their creativity through activities like drawing, painting, singing, dancing, and acting.
My mom always placed great importance on housekeeping, so my siblings and I learned to do household chores from a young age.
During my law studies, I also worked as a waitress in a restaurant, as an event hostess, and as a bartender. For a year, I volunteered at a nursing home for the elderly.
I’ve written a few articles for a local newspaper as well.

I’m a quick learner, curious, and determined to take on new tasks!!
