Hi! 😊

I’m Paula, I’m 32 and from Poland. I’ve been travelling almost non-stop for nearly 4 years. I love meeting interesting people, sharing experiences and getting to know places from a more local perspective.

I absolutely love animals and have quite a bit of experience working with them. I’ve volunteered at animal shelters, and in Germany I helped care for dogs with PTSD who had been brought over from Ukraine. I worked on their socialisation, building trust and preparing them for adoption, as well as helping them find new homes. So working with animals is definitely something I genuinely enjoy.

I love learning new things and developing practical skills. I’m not afraid of getting my hands dirty - quite the opposite! I actually enjoy work where you can see the results at the end of the day. I’m happy to help with animals, gardening, cleaning, organising spaces, renovation work or pretty much anything that involves rolling up your sleeves and getting things done. I also have experience working as a kitchen assistant and hotel cleaner, so hard work doesn’t scare me. 😉

I have quite a diverse professional background. I worked as a personal trainer for several years, as well as in marketing and social media. I also worked as a truck driver in Scandinavia, driving a 25-metre road train. So if I can manoeuvre a vehicle that size, I’m pretty sure I can handle a tractor, wheelbarrow or lawn mower too. 😄

I’m fluent in English, currently working on improving my Russian, and my next goal is to learn Italian.

For several years I travelled with my friend Łukasz, so if you look through the reviews from our previous Workaway experiences, you’ll probably see his name mentioned there too. I’ve been travelling on my own for some time now. I’m independent, adaptable and quite easy-going — I don’t need much to feel at home.

A few practical things about me: I don’t use any drugs, not smoking I don’t have any allergies and I’m not a picky eater - I eat pretty much everything. I usually avoid gluten, but I won’t die if I have some from time to time. 😄 I also always travel with health insurance, so I like to be prepared rather than surprised.

I’m curious about the world, I enjoy people who don’t take themselves too seriously, and I definitely prefer real experiences over perfect postcards. What I’m looking for in Workaway is not only the chance to help, but also to learn something new, meet local people and simply spend my time in a meaningful way. 😊

We are very pleased to say that our stay with Robert and Carlos was our best since using WorkAway. They are lovely guys. We worked 3 hours a day.
