Description
Hello! We are a small family from Chile – Raimundo (34), Paola (30) and our daughter Ema (1 year and 3 months). In October 2025 we are moving to Austria, and we are looking for opportunities to connect with local people, learn more about the culture and improve our German.
We are a very responsible, flexible and easy-going family. We like to keep spaces clean, cozy and organized, and we enjoy teamwork. We are also open to helping with daily tasks, gardening, cooking, cleaning or looking after animals.
We are both Forestry Engineers (Paola and Rai) with experience in sustainability projects and hospitality (housekeeping, cafés). Together we love nature, hiking, mountain sports, and cultural exchange.
Ema is a cheerful toddler, used to being around people, and she adapts easily. We understand that not every place is suitable for a family with a small child, so we are always flexible and respectful of the hosts’ needs.
We speak Spanish (native), English (good communication), and are learning German (hoping to improve while living in Austria). We would also be happy to share our culture and even teach Spanish if you are interested!
We are excited to join the Workaway community and contribute with our energy, care, and motivation.

We speak Spanish (native) and English (good communication), and we are currently learning German. We would love to improve our German through daily life, conversation, and cultural exchange. In return, we’d be very happy to help others learn or practice Spanish, our native language. Rai also enjoys language exchange through outdoor activities or shared projects, and Paola is patient and good at explaining — especially for beginners. For us, language learning is one of the most exciting parts of traveling and connecting with new people!

More details about your skills
We are a small family from Chile: Paola (Forestry Engineer) and Rai (Forestry Engineer & Climbing Instructor), plus our 1.2-year-old daughter. We’re responsible, tidy, and easygoing, and we enjoy keeping spaces clean, cozy, and well organized.
Paola: experience in sustainability/community gardening projects and hospitality/housekeeping (detail-oriented, reliable, used to high standards of cleanliness). Comfortable with cooking, daily chores, and garden work; happy to support eco and community initiatives.
Rai: Forestry Engineer with hands-on background in tourism/outdoors (tour guiding, passenger van driving, restaurant work) and climbing instruction. Skills across sport/trad climbing, mountaineering, and intermediate-advanced skiing; used to teamwork, safety, and teaching basics to beginners.
Both: happy to help with gardening, cleaning, cooking, simple maintenance, organizing spaces, basic childcare/animal care, and outdoor tasks. We love nature and mountain life, and we learn fast.
Languages: Spanish (native), English (good/advanced), German (basic A1). We can also teach Spanish.
We are reliable, flexible, quick learners, and motivated to contribute wherever needed while learning more about local culture and improving our German.

What else ...
We love spending time outdoors and enjoying nature as a family. Hiking, exploring new landscapes and simply being outside together make us happiest.
As a hobby, we both enjoy circus arts — we can do and teach juggling and handstands, and we love sharing that playful energy with others. We also enjoy birdwatching, creative outdoor activities, and anything that connects us with people and the natural world.
Our little daughter Ema also loves to be outside, so we’re always looking for family-friendly adventures and simple moments in nature
