  • Description

Hello! My name is Olivia, though Olive or Liv works too.

I’m from California, and I have been approved for a 12-month working holiday visa. I am incredibly excited to experience the beauty of New Zealand over the next year! My journey has begun in Southland, and I would like to continue workaways in this area and/or in Otago in August/September.

One of my biggest dreams is to someday build a lifestyle farm of my own guided by permaculture and horticulture principles. I’m looking for opportunities where I can gain more hands-on experience and continue learning - whether that’s farming, animal care, gardening, building/DIY projects, weeding, painting, eco projects, the list goes on! I’m very happy to help with cooking, cleaning, maintenance, and everyday household tasks.
I am also interested in hospitality/hostel positions and house/pet sitting. I love learning new things, am hardworking, adaptable, and definitely not afraid to get my hands dirty! Serving others, animal care, and being in nature brings me joy.

A few helpful things to know:
    - I have purchased a van with a camper setup in the back, so transportation is not an issue.
    - I am a digital nomad. I work an average of 16-20 hours per week remotely with lots of flexibility, so I can easily work that schedule around whenever I am needed!
    - I’m vegetarian and would really appreciate hosts who can accommodate that.
    - I’m ideally looking for stays of 2 weeks or longer, depending on the project and how things flow.

In my free time, I enjoy yoga, hiking, camping, paddle boarding, journaling, photography, sketching, reading, music, and really anything outdoors. I love learning new recipes and am an adventurer at heart. During my stay, I hope to explore and experience as much of New Zealand’s culture and natural beauty as possible.

I would describe myself as easygoing, thoughtful, determined, and quietly hardworking.

I’m really looking forward to connecting with kind people, learning new skills, and contributing wherever I can. Thanks so much for reading. I hope to meet you soon! :)

  • More details about your skills

I’m someone who genuinely loves learning new skills and gaining hands-on experience wherever I can. I am eager to please and always willing to jump in and help.
I have some experience with DIY projects, basic building using minimal power tools, painting, gardening, weeding, general household maintenance, and caring for animals including sheep, goats, chickens, dogs, and cats.
Professionally, I come from a strong customer service background. I previously managed a busy drive-thru coffee shop, where I learned how to work efficiently, stay organized under pressure, and communicate well with people. I currently work in a remote administrative role for a dental office.
I’m adaptable, dependable, and a quick learner, and I’m excited to continue building practical skills through Workaway experiences.
