Description
We are a young married farming couple, living in the Deep South of New Zealand. We live on a 2ha lifestyle block, with our dogs, cat, 3 goats, and some calves. Situated just 15 minutes from Bluff and Invercargill. Endless opportunities for adventure, with beaches, native bush walks and local amenities within 15-30minute drives from the property.
We are not a farm, but both my partner and I work on the family farm - next to our property.
We are looking for workawayers to help on our OWN property doing gardening and maintenance. This being said there is opportunity for you to watch and learn about our dairy operations, but are not expected to work in any way on the farm.
For those interested in horses, there are 3 horses available to take for treks
You'll be able to enjoy your working stay holiday in a fully self-contained private unit on the property as well as additional rooms available in the house.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We have occasional gatherings with the local farming community (both socially and for learning) and regular family dinners/activities. We are both hands-on people who are happy to teach most farming/DIY-related things and willing to learn ourselves how other things are done in other cultures.

Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Help
We are looking for anyone who is willing to do some gardening/general maintenance around our property aswell as help out with some small DIY jobs.

Accommodation
We offer a fully self-contained private unit separate from the house on the property, as well as additional bedrooms available in our own home. We can provide home-grown meat, eggs, milk, and some vegetables. Food and drinks will be available at all times, with one hot meal provided per working day. We ask that everyone share cooking duties.

What else ...
On time off or days away, we are only a short distance from many beautiful adventures in the south.
You could take a short ferry ride or flight to Stewart Island, a day trip or weekend away to spectacular Fiordland, or the Lakes District, or go for various bush walks and experience local flora and fauna in the beautiful Catlins. If you want to stay more local to town, Invercargill has plenty to offer: Beaches, bush walks and hikes, dining, shopping, and many other recreational activities.

My animals / pets
Maple (1 year)
Maple is a St Bernard. She's big, she's fluffy, and playful.
A bit timid at first, but as soon as she knows you're there to pat and cuddle her, she won't leave you alone
