Hi! I'm Nate, a 31-year-old traveler from the United States exploring New Zealand on a Working Holiday Visa.

I spent the last six years working as a software engineer, but I'm currently taking time to travel. I'm especially interested in pottery, woodworking, carpentry, sustainable building, farming, and other trades.

Before working in tech, I spent several years leading childrens hiking/camping trips. I'm comfortable taking initiative, working independently, learning new skills, and contributing wherever needed. I enjoy physical work, being outdoors, and working as part of a team.

I'm hoping to connect with people who are passionate about what they do, contribute meaningfully to projects, and learn practical skills along the way.

I've spent many years learning Spanish and have traveled through parts of Latin America. I'm an intermediate and would love chances to practice and learn. I've also studied Mandarin for a few years but am less conversational. Its a goal of mine to become conversational again in my life.

What else ...

I come from a big board game family. Splendor and 7 Wonders are our go tos right. I love all kinds of board games from the 15 minute to the several hour. I really enjoy getting to learn new games, I just discovered Wingspan recently and am a big fan. I'm a budding chess player, but make no claims of being very good at it.
