Description
Update: we are fully booked for 2024. Next opening will be mid April to mid May 2025:
We are looking for a person (or 2) that can house sit beginning of May. You would stay with us for a couple of weeks beforehand, so we can show you the chores before we will be leaving. You will then be in charge for a week. Once we are back, you can either stay a bit longer or continue with your travel plans.
We are located in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. My husband and I have 4 horses, 2 dogs, and 1 vineyard - no kids. Our helper would have to be an outdoorsy person, dog & horse lover, interested in natural horsemanship and be a good rider. In exchange for your volunteering, you have room & board, internet access, are included in all activities, and we play with the horses or we go riding. Are you a non-smoking, self motivated, outdoorsy & fit person, then we would love to meet you.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will be included in all the family activities, you can join us to go to barrel races and/or gymkhanas. You will learn about natural horsemanship (I passed PNH level 3 liberty). We grow grapes, so you can learn a lot about viticulture and wine.
Help
You will be helping with barn chores, walking the dogs, working in the vineyard, some maintenance work and the odd job here and there in and around the house.

You have your own room with a queen size bed, a bathroom that you have to share with guests in our house. For breakfast and lunch you just help yourself, for dinner we cook together or you can surprise us with your favorite dish.
What else ...
We are close to the lake & beaches, close to hiking and biking trails. You can use our bicycle and/or scooter. There is a bus to town (Penticton) 3 times a day. We are in the middle of wine country and there are lots of wineries. There is rock climbing at Skaha Bluffs and shorter routes just a few minutes from us.
