I am Maleen, 36 years old and I spend the year 2026 in Canada. I am a working as a social worker in Germany and i love my work. But I also love to travel around the world :) So I applied for a sabbatical. I want to learn something about the country Canada, I want to meet people and I want to spend time in the nature.

I am very social and I like to spend time with other people. I am working since more than 10 years with people in difficult situations. So I think I am good in handle difficult situations :)

In Germany i am working with kids and school classes. We do different activities with them like: canoeing, climbing, canyoning, going in caves and do camping with the kids. I am also a certified canoe guide.

I like to be in the nature and enjoy my life. I love canoeing, climbing, hiking and camping. This is a big part of my life, for this reason I have a few skills in this activities.

I love cooking and I think cooking is one of my passion.

In New Zealand I worked on a diary farm for a couple of months. I am used to do thinks like gardening, wood chopping and some animal care.

I have been riding since I am a child, so I know a few things about horses.

I am very trustworthy, reliable and work very well.

My sister and her fiancé are living in Canada. in 2024 i spend a few weeks there and it was amazing. I did a lot of snowboarding and I decided to come back :)

I have my one car, so I am flexible.

I have to check my mails for work 4x a week so I need a little bit Internet :) Sometimes I have an online meeting, but that's just 1 - 2 times in a month.

Maleen spent 2 weeks sharing Yukon summer projects with me. She is calm, well organized, hard working, intuitive and a great paddler. I spent two wonderful weeks at Janes places at her amazing property. It felt like visiting an old friend and having a fantastic time together. We went paddling a lot, which was amazing. Maleen is a very willing and competent worker, and her calm energy was a joy to be around. She was very helpful in and around the house, assisting with yard work, garden and flower planting with a keen eye for excellence.

Maleen was a joy to have here! She was super helpful and great with the horses and dogs. She is very skilled in many things from making firewood to landscaping, farm chores and house work. She is also very reliable and trustworthy! I loved having Maleen here, she was a huge support to me and my farm.
