Description

My name is Maite and I graduated last year from high school in Germany. Now I am in New Zealand on a Working Holiday to explore New Zealand (nature/landscapes, culture, life styles). I also want to challenge myself and gain experience and I'm generally open to all kinds of work. I don't mind physical/ hands-on work.

My family has a small garden where I sometimes helped out. We grew a few vegetables for ourselves and did general maintenance work such as mowing the lawn, weed removal and planting new plants. During Covid-19, my father and I even built a tree house ourselves.
I finished wwoofing & my first workaway in January where I worked on different tasks: lots of weeding, mowing lawns, picking plums, cutting and drying plums, sanding old furniture and repainting those as well as a few days of house and pet sitting.

The last 8 years, my hobby was equestrian vaulting. It involved caring for our horses like grooming, walks in our nearby forest, ground work, lunging and mucking out the stables.
Through vaulting I am physically fit as we trained strength and stamina.
I was also active as a trainer for 4 years. I trained our youngest (aged 4 to 7) and our advanced team, consisting of children aged 9 to 16. For the last 2 years, I have had the great responsibility of being the head coach of the advanced team, which involved many tasks, such as planing and organizing their training and a few competitions.

I like meeting people, being outgoing, but I also enjoy quiet and calm moments. I love animals - I'd be happy to cuddle with them!
