Description
Update: my partner and I are looking for hosts that we truly resonate with spiritually. These types of people we want to connect with, learn from, give back to, and hopefully settle down with. We are realizing that our priorities are spiritual (connection with God/Source/Higher Power) and we want to be around people that also have that priority. Physical work and putting energy into the land we are on is very important but comes after spiritual work and putting energy into our souls. Material things are so temporary, our souls are eternal and where the true investment lies.
For the past 5 years, I have been traveling around the U.S. doing Workaway and visiting communes and ecovillages. This platform is so awesome because I feel like it attracts some of the most amazing people - people who are open minded, kind, curious, and alternative. I love connecting with these people and learning from them. I am so grateful that a program like this exists because it allows us to learn from and exchange with each other in a way that does not involve money. I also love this form of travel because it is beneficial to all and I can give back to the people and land I am visiting.
About me:
a free-spirited nomad who wants to live an alternative life that has a positive impact
I was born in Los Angeles and am half Korean, half Caucasian. I grew up in Cameroon till I was 13 but then my family moved back to the U.S.
I would describe myself as responsible, detail oriented, fair, and curious. I value learning, open mindedness, positivity, kindness, good communication, and genuine connection. My interests include natural healing, nutritious food, camping, hiking, yoga, reading, self growth, natural building, grounding, and basically everything related to health, holistic living, nature, sustainability, spirituality, and alternative living. I love being barefoot whenever I can. I try to leave as little negative impact on our planet as possible and use natural soaps and products. I enjoy composting toilets and peeing outdoors. I do not drink or smoke.
I am friendly and open minded and love meeting new people and having deep conversations. Community and connection is very important to me. Being around people brings me to life and is something I look for in a workaway experience. At the same time, I do also value time to myself where I can reflect, process, ground and check in. Other things I look for in a workaway experience are for hosts who describe themselves as genuinely good people, who are good communicators, unjudgmental, kind, curious of others, and fair.
My partner (Daniel) is very similar to me in our interests and values. Personally wise, he's different from me in that he prefers more time by himself. Both of us have strong priorities in spiritually, health (unvaccinated and food is our medicine), and self growth. We are looking for a homestead where we can help with animals since we want to be connected to our food. -

More details about your skills
Update:
here are Daniel's skills: very experienced with milking, doing all types of physical labor (he is very strong), climbing coconut trees, construction, gardening, animal husbandry, he's quite experienced with all types of work that comes with living on the land
my skills
in no particular order,
1. Experience with intentional communities and communal living. I have visited (and lived at a few ) communes and eco villages in the U.S. - The Farm, East Wind, Cambia, Acorn, Living Energy Farm, Twin Oaks, Community of Peace, Short Mountain, Sirius, Glomus, Heathcote, Mad Brook Farm, Damanhur, Gaia Yoga Gardens.
2. Gardening and permaculture. I have worked in many different gardens in my Workaway travels.
3. Cooking. I also have some knowledge and experience with making kombucha, water kefir, sauerkraut, sourdough, and also food preservation.
4. Living off grid. I have a lot of experience with this because in Cameroon we were off grid and I've lived in many different off grid communities and homesteads, so I am used to being aware of electric and water usage and being frugal with what is available.
5. I have experience with cob and natural building as well as power tools and basic construction.
6. I have experience with animals- both pet and farm animals. I have done pet sitting though TrustedHousitters.com which is another great platform that I recommend if you need someone to watch your pets for free and/or want to stay at someone's house for free in exchange for taking care of their pets. As for farm animals, I have experience with chickens, ducks and limited experience with goats, cows, horses.
7. I have experience with Airbnb hosting, retreat centers, hostels, and the hospitality industry. -
