Description
Hey dear future host/ travel buddy! :)
I'm Laura, 23 years old, and I have just finished my Bachelors degree in Philosophy, Politics and Society in the Netherlands. Now I crave some adventure, connection, perspective... and sunshine!
I am enthusiastic about learning new ways of life, connecting with interesting people and enriching each other's perspective. A few years ago I travelled through New Zealand, where I spent parts of my childhood. I enjoyed working in a home and babysitting/doing the household a lot and helped out at horse trekking places. (I'm great with kids and animals!)
Now that I am older, I my interest has shifted towards sustainable land management and alternative ways of farming, I would love to help on a farm or with reforrestation projects, reconnecting with nature. I've taken many courses on Ecology and Ecophilosophy as well as "non-Western" philosophies and ways of knowing that sparked a deep interest for a non Anthropocentric way of relating to nature and the world/ cosmos. I'd be grateful to learn from you and how you put your relationship to nature into practice (through sustainable farming, herbalism, medicinal plants...)
Further, I come from a very hospitable family, so I love making others feel at home. I'm very social, friendly and outgoing, which I would love to put into practice through work in a hostel or other hospitality business. I'm a passionate vegetarian cook and always happy to explore new local ingredients and recipes!
I value a relationship to my host that is based on warmth and reciprocity, where we both see what we can give and teach each other.
I have very broad interests, so I am happy to help out anywhere from a hostel, farmstay/harvesting, childcare, animal care to DIY projects. I am creative as much as I enjoy hard physical labor, and I will adapt fast to what you teach me. I would love to hear about your way of living, your language, your culture and your opinions, in return you will get an enthusiastic, positive, reliable and hard working helper.
Looking forward to meeting you!
Best wishes,
Laura
