Description
If you are an experienced rider and would like to help us here in NZ over the show jumping season and beyond then please get in touch to discuss. We currently have 6 horses, a covered arena and track.
In Christchurch we have 11 acres in the countryside with horses and a dog. We have great accommodation and food. We are interesting hosts who will make sure you have fun while helping us. If you are an experienced equestrian great but if not that is fine as we always have some projects on the go we need help with, mostly outdoor but some indoor. We love laughing, and my husband loves to make others laugh.
We run a software company in Christchurch and we live 1/2 hour from Christchurch city. The bonus is that we also have a wonderful holiday home in the deep south on the border of Fiordland - so if suitable you would be welcome there as well if the timing is right. Hope to hear from you soon.Types of help and learning opportunities

My husband is Swiss/German originally but now a Kiwi!! I am born and raised in NZ - so we know and love NZ and we have access to great NZ meat and produce - and are great cooks (well my husband is more of a Chef). We like to laugh a lot.
Our lifestyle is very interesting for visitors, we live in the countryside but have a relatively short commute to the city, have lots of interesting stories to share and have great outdoor trips to Fiordland, so much more but you would have to visit to find out more. We love having happy people around who don't mind some hard work but enjoy new experiences.Help
We would give you tasks to do that best suit your skills and depending on what projects we have planned. We have stables for the horses. I am also looking for a long term experienced rider (dressage/showjumping experienced), chance of competing for the right person if you can stay longer term and also some payment.
Same goes for some wood chopping and gardening. If you are a horsey person you can help with the horses and riding if suitable (dressage, show jumping). A couple or 2 friends would be welcome also.Languages spoken

We will cook you great dinners (breakfast and lunch are usually help yourself to food provided as we work in the mornings through the week). We love it if you like to help in the kitchen, you will learn a lot there with my husband.
Nice bed and bathroom. We have accommodation in our house but also in our huge barn, it is quite an amazing building (have a Gym and full size bar/entertainment room (this is for private functions for friends and family). What else ...
We have good Wi Fi at both properties. Time off you can go to the city, or local town of Rangiora, there are walks around the area or in the city in the Port Hills. You need a car to go to these places but if you don't we can help make sure you can still get out and about. You look after us and we look after you.

New Zealand is definitely a richer place with them in it :) I will certainly miss them!
It was my first workaway experience at all and I absolutely enjoyed the time with them. I stayed there for one week, but already after that time, it felt like a home. Both Tama and Desley are very friendly people and make you feel comfortable and welcomed! Thanks to them for giving me the opportunity to make so many… read more
Not being equistrians we were mainly involved with gardening, cleaning and DIY, but got the chance to get close up with the horses.
