You will be welcome as part of our family with my husband and myself in Summerhill, Ireland. Help us to look after our dogs, cat and ponies. Some light gardening in our eco friendly garden.
Myself and my husband would like someone who loves animals to stay at our house and look after our much loved animals when we are on holiday. Some light gardening might be required. We live a mile outside the historic and picturesque village of Summerhill in Co. Meath, which is 30km from Dublin. It is a short walk to the village where there are shops and a pub, or a bike can be used. When we are here we will provide transport to nearby places of interest. There is a daily bus service to Dublin .
One or two workaways would be welcome and they do not require their own transportt.

We have frequent visits from our friends and family who live all over the world, so we love visitors from different cultures. We are very willing to experience meals from your country.

What else ...

I housesat for about two weeks, and honestly was a bit nervous before due to it being my first experience on Workaway. But from the second Emer picked me up from the airport, I knew this would be a life changing experience. Both Paul and Emer are radiant humans who do a lot of good for the world. Emer made sure before leaving that I was set up… read more with friends, who I still chat with all the time. She also drove me to the Hill of Tara, which was a beautiful sight. I loved chatting with Emer, learning about the history of Ireland, and life lessons from a very wise woman. The property looks straight out of a fairytale, especially the garden that I spent a lot of time in. The work did not feel like it at all, I loved taking care of all the animals and still think about Sheba (the German Shepard) all the time. I was responsible for keeping the animals fed, mucking out stalls, and walking the dogs every morning. Morning walks with the dogs were always the favorite part of my day, as the neighborhood is beautiful and filled with greenery. I often spent time exploring the charming town, or reading on the lounge chair with the cat, Sandy, cuddled up next to me. Some neighbors host Workawayers sometimes as well, so it was great meeting them. I always felt very safe, supported, and welcomed thanks to Paul and Emer's kindness. My time in Ireland was the highlight of my entire year, I dream about going back. I am so grateful I was able to spend time there, and %10000 recommend helping out at Paul and Emer's!

My stay at the house was absolutely perfect!
I spent two weeks caring for the animals who all are absolutely adorable.
I also stayed on for some days when Emer and Paul returned from their holiday and they really are wonderful, engaged and kind people! They made me feel at home right from the beginning.
I also met their daughter and neighbours… read more who all are great people.
The house, garden and its surroundings are absolutely beautiful, nature everywhere! I also saw other parts of Ireland.
I will really miss everyone! It was a great experience I am very grateful for and I'm already looking forward to seeing all of them again in the future!

Emer, Paul and Roz are such a lovely family. During the days we were at home with them, we felt like part of their family. Emer took us to very beautiful places, Paul cooked delicious Irish meals and Roz gave us lots of useful advices. Their animals are really lovely and friendly and it was so nice to take care of them.
We had pretty interesting… read more conversation about history, geography, rugby, social stuff...
Besides, the house is such a beautiful place, with everything green and colorful. He had our own nice room and time for us.
Thank you very much, family. This experience is etched on our heart.
