Description

Hello, we're Kora and Tom, a couple from Ireland. We've been travelling together since October 2024 and camped our way across Portugal, Spain and France in our tiny camper van. Having spent a winter and summer season working in the French Alps, we are now planning our next adventure, Central and South America.

Both of us love to travel, meet new friends, learn new skills and immerse ourselves in different ways of life. Workaway feels like the perfect way to combine travel with meaningful exchange.

As a couple :

Together we make a great team - Kora loves teaching, working with kids, looking after pets/animals and bringing out the artist in people. Tom loves using his hands, is good with tools and enjoys working on DIY projects.
We are both happy to work indoors or outdoors, don't mind getting our hands dirty, and are always eager to learn new skills.

Individually :

Kora - I am hardworking, easy going and friendly.
Working in customer service, food preparation and retail from a young age (16), instilled me with strong work ethics and independence. I supported myself through college by picking up part time jobs - babysitting, bar tending and waitressing.

I am a qualified secondary school teacher since 2017 and have enjoyed supporting the development of children, leading initiatives and working alongside staff members to plan and deliver school curriculums.
With 500 hour yoga teacher certification, I am passionate about sharing yogic teachings, organising classes and retreats for the past 3 years.

I love staying active, camping, cooking, cleaning, exploring, enjoying nature and of course- travelling!

Tom - I have worked on construction sites since I was 18. I am a qualified electrician and I also have 4 years of carpentry experience. In that time I have learned the importance of working as a team, but I am also very happy to figure things out by myself.

I have used these skills to help out multiple friends and family members with house renovations down through the years.

Outside of construction industry I have a passion for nature, living off the land and looking after animals. I often take care of pets for family and friends.

I have a passion for music, having played bass guitar in bands since I'm a teenager. Now I enjoy playing solo gigs, singing and playing acoustic guitar.

These experiences have thought me patience, adaptability, and the joy of helping others.
