Description
Hello Everyone
We are John and Viv from Ireland. We live in County Wicklow. It's known as the "garden of Ireland" very green and beautiful.
We have decided to take a year out of our busy lives and have some adventures, some new experiences and meet some amazing people along the way. I work in social care with individuals with mild to moderate intellectual and physical disabilities supporting them to live their best lives and John is a Postman who is loved and respected by the community he serves. We love the outdoors, nature, animals. We love DIY and have had quite a number of houses over the years that we have renovated. We love people, helping people and interacting with them. We always say that we get more than we give. We like to make a difference and as we have learned, the smallest gesture can change someone's day. We hope we can meet people who we can help in whatever small way we can and who when we come away we can say that we are happier for having met them.

More details about your skills
I've worked for many years in the area of intellectual and physical disability. I have worked as a care assistant in one of our main maternity hospitals and have also worked in the area of dementia supporting individuals to remain as independent as possible for as long as possible in their own homes. At the moment I support individuals to live their best lives through person centered programs. As well as working in a day center I also work in residential care where I support individuals with an intellectual/physical disability to live independently in their communities. This involves the every day running of a household, cooking cleaning, shopping, meal planning, administration of medication, and looking after their general health and well-being. The highest level of care and recording of information is required as this is regularly audited by government bodies.
My husband John is a Postman and we enjoy DIY, gardening, general maintenance. Over the years we have bought and renovated a number of houses. We love the process of seeing our hard work produce results. We love the outdoors. We are reliable, hardworking, sociable, friendly and enjoy a project and helping people. We are organized, can use our initiative and are comfortable working either on our own or as part of a team. My particular job requires honesty, integrity and trust.
As our jobs involve looking after people and our community, we feel we are ready to have an adventure of our own, travelling and meeting new ,interesting and kind people who will enrich our lives and make many new memories.
