Hey, I'm Ellie! Im heading to Europe this summer in the hopes to live closer to nature, gain experience and new skills whilst having some adventures! Having had an amazing experience doing my first Workaway last summer on a Horse Ranch in Canada, I cant wait to do more.

Growing up, I always helped my mum with the gardening. My love for it has only grown and I would love to expand my knowledge on this and learn more about permaculture. I'd say Im quite a practical kinda gal; I built my outdoor furniture using upcycled wooden pallets with some very basic knowledge of how to use a drill and a lot of determination. Im keen to learn more practical building skills, especially eco structures. I would also love to care for animals, particularly horses, but i'm just happy to get stuck into whatever needs doing and live a more back-to-basics, self sufficient lifestyle thats in harmony with nature. I am also a creatively minded person and like to draw, particularly typography, as well as make things with my hands, like macramé or jewellery, which I sell at markets.

I am quite a social person, love to share stories and have a laugh, but equally I like to have my own down-time to recharge and I respect that of others too. In my free time I would love to try some new sports like surfing, dirt biking, hiking.. whatever is possible in the area :) but I also like to unwind by peacefully watching the sunset. I would love the opportunity to experience some of your beautiful lands and in return will be a positive, hardworking, happy little workawayerer!

In the past I have worked in a large-scale plant nursery which gave me experience in a variety of tasks, from planting tiny seedlings to clearing overgrown polly-tunnels. The last few years I have been working in an organic health food shop, which has given me a love for natural remedies & holistic healing and I would love to learn more.
I like getting my hands dirty doing DIY and know very basic carpentry.
Growing up I would help my auntie at Glastonbury festival and this taught me valuable knowledge of living in the fields and sharing spaces with others.
I am easy going but hardworking, with the ability to think fast and remain calm in tricky situations. I also hold a manual driving license.

What else ...

I love nature and animals (particularly horses) - I think they are so healing. I love watching sunsets & sunrises especially if you can hear birds singing too. I love driving but also being the passenger on long, beautiful drives. I would love to learn to surf and ride a dirt bike. I also like reading, drawing, crafting, up-cycling, going for walks, finding waterfalls, having fires on wintery nights, going for the occasional boogie, yoga, eating nice food, spending time watching the waves. The last fun fact - I absolutely love the smell of cow/horse manure.
