Description
Hi my husband Andy and I (Amanda) live in an old Galician Cabana style house with stables on the ground floor in the Ribeira Sacra region of Lugo with our 4 horses, 2 dogs and 3 cats.
We have just moved here from the South of Spain.
There are so many trees and forests and the pastures are green most of the year.
Andy is a writer and researcher and I like to be with horses and am working on our reform project with an architect.
We enjoy hosting volunteers and love to hear their stories and hope they have some good/fun ones to tell others about their experience with us.
As most of the work is physical you need to be fit and able. Farm work involves, especially with horses, lifting and carrying weights.
Being able to use your initiative and take shared responsibility of caring for cats, dogs and horses is vital.
Being able to cook and contribute to running a home is important to us.
Having a driving licence is an advantage as we are not on a regular bus route.
If you are over 30 you may be able to use our 4x4 on your days off.
We like to make others feel welcome and are happy to share our knowledge and experience of life.and my extensive knowledge of horses.
As we have four horses we want people with horse experience and for those that can ride well there will be an opportunity to ride out in the forest.
