Hi, I'm Cherine.

I'm from London, currently escaping my repetitive 9-5 of sitting in a dark clinic peering into eyeballs. Roaming around the world, absorbing new knowledge, learning new skills, giving back to community/nonprofit intiatives, broadening perspective, working amidst mother nature and animals light me up. I have a strong interest in sustainable permaculture - I've love to own a little slice of land someday with abundance of animals filled with fruits and veggies.

I find workawaying a deeply enriching experience given my curiosity and desire to connect to those from all walks of life. On a quest to step away from the London/consumering treadmill and the values we're conditioned to adopt in pursuit of a 'fulfilled life' - workaway has been immensely eye opening and valuable challenging this notion and expanding my outlook through many inspiring people and enriching conversations.

I'm proactive, v personable, keen to learn/action, happy to try my hand at anything and look forward to getting stuck in.

Photography: worked in croatia as a photographer capturing wakeboarders in action. I'm not currently travelling with my professional camera, but have a high capable sony that takes high quality shots - proficient in editing using lightroom.

I've volunteering on a handful of past workaways that were more gardening based, have mulched, weeded, built with cob, planted baby trees to rewild land

Staying at casa Redouane felt more like a cultural exchange and a home away from home. We were spoilt by Hajars cooking, the tagines and couscous were *chefs kiss. Cherine stayed with us just for a week but during this time we did a lot of things. She is really positive person and with a lot of curiosity and motivation about all the tasks. It was a big pleasure to meet her. I think it is great that Cherine used her short work holidays to do workaway. Hope we meet again!

My time with Yulia, Miguel and Amalia was short but very sweet. They're wonderful, generous, kind-hearted people, and I loved my stay with them. My work was varied and very interesting, I harvested chestnuts, made cob (mixing together sand, clay and straw to fill holes), I mulched, gardened, planted seeds.. No day was boring!
