Ciao everyone, Alessandro here :)
I'm an Italian guy from La Spezia, where my base is, even though I don't really live there anymore.

I am a relaxed yet extroverted person, I just like social interaction and human connections, sometimes I randomly talk with people on the street just because they might look interesting to me. I've got many nice memories and stories from such interactions.
I would call myself a 'slow explorer' as I like to take the time to experience each place that I am in, get to know the local people and have nice experiences.

I'm a lost software engineer, which is just a fancy way to say that I'm unemployed at the moment :)
I had the opportunity to travel and work remotely, I have been self-employed and also started my own software house business, but in the last few years life priorities shifted, so I've paused completely my career. I started traveling because I wanted to see what was outside my bubble growing up, now I just keep finding new, pretty nice excuses to stay on the move.

I like heaps of different things, I enjoy going on exciting adventures but also make time to just hang out and exist with no constant rush. I like to have a beer and chat, or wander aimlessly around whatever town I am in with no expectations.
I am big on hiking, mountains and nature, but growing up on the coast I also love water, no matter if it's the sea, a river, a lake or whatever. I have a diving certificate too and I really like snorkeling.

I've lots of nice memories and experiences from traveling that I like to share and I absolutely love trying new food and small, local restaurants.

More details about my language interests
I can teach Italian of course, English and I can have conversation in Spanish, but I am not good enough to teach! Anyhow, we are always interested in learning a little bit of the local language of the country we are visiting. I know a few things in Dutch because my girlfriend comes from The Netherlands, but I have not been a good student so far...

Well, I have strong skills in software-related activities from my work and academic experience, but in the last few years I had different DIY and gardening volunteers and activities, and also animal care.
I can take care of smaller and bigger animals and I am not afraid of getting my hands dirty, I have had different volunteering experiences with horses, donkeys, sheep and other similar animals.
I can do some basic woodwork and I enjoy painting works. My girlfriend's parents have a big property where I have done a lot of painting, fencing, I took care of the garden, had to cut branches and chop wood and just took general care of the outdoor areas. I have done similar activities in volunteers too.
Recently, I worked for some weeks in a garden in Australia, cleaning the area from weeds and other unwanted objects and then creating a new soil bed and planting new greenery.
I am always happy to cook and share a meal; I consider myself a decent cook and I can also bake good bread and pizzas.
I am a valid house keeper too, mainly from volunteering in hostels.

What else ...

Since meeting my girlfriend I started to be more interested in arts and crafts, which now are part of my hobbies. I like to keep a journal/scrapbook while a travel, so if you see me peeling a label from a bottle it's for that reason :)
I love playing football and try to do it as much as I can! Biking as well it's something I really enjoy, if the bikes comes with a powerful engine it's better, but pedals are good too.
