Description
Hi there!
We’re a couple who love slow, intentional travel, with a strong focus on eco-building, permaculture, and community-based living. We enjoy contributing in practical, hands-on ways while genuinely connecting with people and place.
Bel comes from a background in touring performance, festivals, and arts production. She has travelled extensively through Western Australia and internationally performing science shows, running workshops, stage managing, and producing festivals. She’s passionate about projects that educate, challenge, and help people connect emotionally, and recently toured with Kuramanunya as part of the Pacific Dance NZ Festival in Auckland. She brings a warm, empathetic, people-centred presence, is currently completing a healers course, and is especially drawn to herbalism, sustainability, and earth-based practices.
Wes is an outdoor adventurer at heart, with a love for rock climbing, surfing, freediving, and nature exploration. He brings strong practical building and land-based skills, including renovating a house in Australia over the past year, building permaculture gardens, and learning and applying bio-construction and natural building techniques. Wes is warm, genuine, and grounded, with a clear logical and problem-solving mindset shaped by over eight years working as a lawyer — useful for planning, troubleshooting, systems thinking, and following projects through. He also enjoys teaching various dance styles including Swing Dancing and Kizomba.
Together, we design and build creative art installations, often for burns and festivals, combining imagination with practical execution. We work well independently or collaboratively as a team, and we know how to have fun while getting things done. We’re excited to support eco-building, permaculture, and regenerative projects that value care for land, people, and community.
Looking forward to sharing meals, cups of tea, and deep conversations with you!

More details about your skills
Because I've worked for years in festivals, I'm a very practical, get-in-and-do-it sort of person. I have experience using power tools and building structures (but I'd like to state that I'm not a qualified carpenter!), as well as gardening, cooking, animal husbandry, computer literacy, upcycling and organisational skills like spreadsheets and packing.
I've volunteered with animal rehabilitation centres and zoos, spent weeks monitoring and tagging turtles, planted gardens, been a nanny and tutored high school students amongst other things. I'm a really quick learner, love connecting to the land and animals, learning about First Nation cultures and doing things with my hands. I'm up for almost any task :)
I also believe in open communication, reliability and adaptability. I really value honesty and will never be upset to receive feedback - I love knowing where I stand with someone and am always keen to build on what I know/what I'm doing. I'm a pretty proactive person and always enjoy making myself useful.
