Description

I'm Tessa, from the south of England and now part time resident in Germany.

I come from a small village and a family that is connected to agriculture. I love the countryside and try to stay informed about the issues faced by rural and farming communities.

I have a background in dance, theatre and singing, and had lots of different experiences performing and studying since I was quite young. 'The arts' in general are really important to me - all kinds of music, crochet, embroidery, literature, trying out new things, either doing it myself or appreciating the talents of others!

In recent years I worked on a flower farm, at a campsite, alongside my Dad running a Christmas tree business, and making pizzas at festivals. I have experience with kids, dogs, teaching dance and movement, food and hospitality, cleaning and a little bit of event organising. I'm interested in learning more practical skills like working with wood, building and repairing things, and all aspects of agriculture.

I'm qualified to teach Mat Pilates and I'm especially into functional movement, mobility and the importance of keeping our mind-body connection strong and healthy. Also starting to learn about somatic practices, the effects of different types of movement on our nervous system, and trying to tie it all into my deep love of dancing.

Generally I have quite a DIY outlook on life, I think autonomy is cool and so is being considerate of those around you. I enjoy solitude, I do my best thinking while going for a walk by myself, and I always have a project to keep myself occupied. Under the right circumstances I am very chatty, I like to get to know people through talking with them.

Tessa came to help us with our harvest and was our first workawayer. She communicated well pre-arrival and is a very good worker, has good initiative and is well motivated. She's interesting to talk to and very helpful around the home too, including keeping our toddler daughter entertained at times.
