  • Description

It sometimes seems like I have had many lifetimes within the 37 years I've had the privilege of living on this big blue planet of ours. From growing up in England and in France, studying and working in advertising, to travelling through South America, becoming a wilderness guide in Finland and working in Antarctica, my journey is made of endless twists and turns.

2026 brings me to the magical land of Oz. My sister has been living here for the past 10 years and it was about time I paid her a visit. I made it just in time to get a Working Holiday Visa and I plan to make the most of this year to spend time in and Melbourne but also explore and experiment different ways of living. I usually prefer travelling at a slow pace, to have time to take places in, meet people locally and experience what it might be like to live in the places I visit. I've not been one to stick to the norms nor to travel the paths expected of me, so this year I want to continue my "unconvential" journey in the pursuit of learning knew skills and exploring ways of living that align with my values and way of being.

Over the years, I've become increasingly interested in the principles of "non-violence" related to relationships, to myself and my body, and to the Earth.
I practice compassionate communication and run a weekly and a monthly practice group online which I wish to continue throughout the year. I'm interested in intentional communities and transforming ways we experience power and leadership.
I'll also be following an online embodiment coaching course from February to August 2026 to bring more of the body into my NVC activities.
I don't smoke nor drink alcohol. I have a plant-based diet and I'm interested in all kinds of movement (hiking, yoga, swimming, SUP, kayaking...). I also recently tried bouldering which was a lot of fun.
I'm interested in growing food (organic farming, permaculture) and have much to learn. I prefer natural, biodegradable products and cosmetics (I'm sensitive to artificial scents). I practice zero-waste principles very imperfectly but it's all part of my journey to living more sustainably on this beautiful planet.

Throughout my travels, I've had plenty of experiences volunteering and caring for other people's homes and animal companions. I've detailed a couple of those in the "What else" section and you can learn more about my skills in the sections below.

I tend to be a rather quiet resident. I'm attentive to detail and will treat any space (home, work place) with care and respect, leaving it clean and organised at all times. I enjoy deep conversations and games nights. I have a warm and soothing nature while also being keen on adventures and pushing my comfort zones. I suppose my loved ones might say I'm a deeply caring friend with a wild spirit, passionate about the quest of living life with integrity and compassion.

I started learning Finnish but didn't get very far conversationally. I'd love to get back into it and I'd be thrilled to make some more Spanish speaking friends to not forget it all. I'm happy to help anyone who'd like to improve their French and English through conversation.

  • What else ...

Back in 2014-2015, I was travelling around South America and I used both Workaway and WWOOF Argentina to seek volunteer opportunities.
In Peru, I spent a little over a month helping out in a hotel in Pacasmayo. I was mainly asked to help out at reception: attending to guests, phone calls, check-in, check-out... this required a fairly good level of Spanish. They also asked me to review their communication strategy, so we worked on that together while I was there.

With WWOOF Argentina, I spent 3 months on a farm in Patagonia. Tasks were varied, here are a few things I did on the farm:
    - Harvest fruit and vegetables
    - Cooking (jam for selling, meals for the family and volunteers)
    - Natural construction
    - Taking care of animals (dog, cats, chicken)
    and in the hostel:
    - Welcoming clients
    - Managing reservations (Booking.com and phone calls)
    - Selling farm produce
    - General maintenance (cleaning, making beds)
    - Marketing inside the hostel and online (updating info and pictures on Booking.com, helping the owner with her Facebook page, updating hostel information inside rooms and in the kitchen, creating new tools to help sell farm produce to clients)
