  • Description

    Sarah:
My friends and family describe me as happy, laid back and adventurous. I am a hard worker and enjoy people and animals. I live in Eastern Washington in the USA. It used to be more rural but presently it is more urban than country. I live on 10 acres with my husband, my dog, 2 barn cats, 13 hens and some cattle (2 cows, 2 steers and 1 bull). We used to have 2 horses and 2 goats. I miss the horses and riding regularly. I am a western rider.
I love most everything out doors and used to be a ski racing coach. My husband and I still spend as much time skiing in the winter as we can.
In the warmer weather I love riding my bike everywhere. I am still working part time as a nurse and love riding my bike to work in the late spring, summer and fall.
My husband and I went to Italy for the first time and loved it. We were there for 16 days and visited various cities. I could write a page describing our trip. What I took away from our visit was how much I loved Italy and the European culture. I loved the small towns and villages. I want to return and be part of a community, buy veggies from the vegetable market, buy bread from the baker, buy meat from the butcher. I want to sit in a church and light a candle. I loved riding the trains. Also I want to improve my almost nonexistent Italian. I known enough Spanish to get into all sorts of trouble. I am a native English speaker.

    Joel:
I enjoy life and like everything from building houses to water skiing, hiking and bike riding. I spent the majority of my winters coaching ski racing and enjoy working with the kids. My education and background is in engineering. I've built multiple houses including our current home. I like both the design and physical building of the house.

We are husband and wife who raised a daughter who is attending college in Bozeman Montana USA.

    Sarah:
I have worked as a nurse for 30 years in many different areas. Presently I work in a large hospital as an Inter Vascular Specialist.
For fun I have also worked as a ski instructor and ski racing coach. I primarily taught with women and coached 9 and 10 year old boys and girls.

My husband and I remodeled our first home which was originally 500 square feet and was 1500 square feet when finished. We also built 2 homes from the ground up. My husband did 90% of the work and I was mostly the laborer.

I can take care of most animals: cat, dogs, horses, and other farm animals. I can mend a fence.

I love sewing and with a good pattern I can sew most things.

I have had many gardens over the years growing lots of different vegetables. I love tomatoes and have canned salsa if we had a bumper crop.

I can drive a tractor. My tractor is a kubota 400 series. I also can drive a manual transmission.

And I can clean. Not my favorite but I am willing and able.

Skills: health care, working with children, construction (as the helper), animal care, western horse riding, mending fences, gardening, operate most power tools, drive a tractor, cleaning, sewing

    Joel:

I have built houses, a barn and many different out buildings and other animal housing.
