    Description

    ING

Hi! We are Víctor and Berta, two friends sharing a house in the middle of the forest. Although we are surrounded by nature, we are still close (10–20 mins) to villages* with social hubs, shops, and services. We live alongside several animals: 12 chickens, 6 sheep, 2 dogs, and 2 cats.
We strive to be as self-sufficient as possible: we have solar panels and a turbine for electricity; a river that provides our water; a vegetable garden and a local cooperative in a nearby village for seasonal food; sheep and chickens for meat and eggs; and a forest full of firewood to keep us warm.
Víctor has a carpentry workshop right here on the farm, and Berta balances different jobs, currently working at a nearby vineyard and as a freelance videographer and photographer.

*The nearby villages are La Pobla de Segur, Gerri de la Sal, and Sort (located in Pallars Jussà and Pallars Sobirà).

    DAILY LIFE AND TASKS
Our daily routine is simple. We usually work in the mornings, and in the afternoons we either relax or work on projects around the house. Right now, our ongoing projects include: building a wood-fired oven, clearing out a shed, repairing fences, working in the garden and preparing firewood.
If you decide to join us, you’ll be helping with these tasks and, of course, with the reproductive labor: keeping the house clean and organized, cooking, and looking after the animals.
For fun, we keep it simple too: we enjoy mountain sports, playing music, watching series or movies, playing board games, reading, chatting, cooking paellas with the neighbors, or just going for a walk.

    OUR VALUES
It’s important for us to mention that while we live in a rural environment surrounded by nature, we don’t subscribe to a "romanticized" view of this lifestyle. Living here is beautiful, but it can also be hard work. When things are great, we enjoy them without over-idealizing it; when things get tough, we just cook something delicious after work!
It is also vital that our home remains a safe space. We do not tolerate sexist, racist, LGBTQI+phobic, or imperialist attitudes, nor any form of discrimination against diversity. We are constantly unlearning and we make mistakes too, but we truly appreciate sharing this common ground with our visitors.
Finally, as we live on a rustic farm and are committed to food sovereignty, we have a varied diet based on natural and animal products. Unfortunately, we cannot provide special processed foods for vegans or vegetarians, such as tofu or synthetic proteins. If you have very specific dietary needs, we recommend bringing your own supplements to ensure your comfort

If you think we’d get along and would like to spend some time together, we’d love to meet you! :)

    ESP

    Hola!

    DÍA A DÍA Y TRABAJOS
