Hello! We are Sarah (English) and Ella (Trinidadian). We now live in London, after living in Scotland for 15 years.

Sarah 🪴 I am a seamstress and community facilitator- I love connecting with other people creatively. In my spare time my interests include gardening, cooking for friends and dancing- anything where I can be out and about in a joyful way!

Ella ☀️ My background is in Engineering, however I most recently worked with a football charity on facility development. Doing a practical degree at university and then continuously carrying out personal projects has allowed me familiarise myself with woodworking and general construction. My passion is for making, where I’m able to bring ideas to fruition, so I’m most excited about opportunities that will allow me to offer my skills whilst learning new ones.

We love working on furniture building projects together (a perfect overlap of both our skills!) and recently we have stepped this up a level, taking on the massive project of renovating our new home in London, meaning we’re both handy with power tools and problem solving!

We’ve both done various volunteering projects at home and abroad. Sarah has taught English to children at a school in Peru and volunteered with kids in afterschool projects in the UK too. Ella’s experience has mostly been in volunteer construction projects.

We’re currently travelling in Colombia to improve our Spanish while getting to know another culture. Ella is working flexibly a couple days a week remotely to help cover our costs whilst abroad.

Sarah- Sewing, Painting, Cooking, General DIY, horticulture and plant tending. My professional experience focuses on community group work, so I pride myself on great communication and organisation. I also used to run my own fashion brand, so I can turn my hand to digital skills very easily (photography, videography, editing etc).

Ella- Woodworking and general DIY. Professionally I worked as a project manager in the sports and residential industries, whilst personally I’ve learnt a lot more hands on skills through the completion of one and a half home renovations. Throughout the renovations I’ve had to do light amounts of electrical and plumbing work as well.

In our spare time we love a game of cards and doing a codeword (a problem solving kind of crossword!).

Growing up in the Carribean, Ella has a love for being near the ocean. She is comfortable operating both sailing dinghies and small power boats.
