From 10 Years in Science to a Calling in Education | US Degree Student & TEFL L5 (Young Learners) | Committed to a 6+ Month Placement
ABOUT ME
My name is Michele. For ten years, I built a successful, structured career as a chemist in Italy. However, over the past few years, my path went through a profound and unexpected evolution. I realized I wanted a life driven by human connection, not just a productive environment.
Accordingly, in November 2024, I took a leap. I relocated to Australia, dedicating myself to intense physical labor and independent travel, completely immersing myself in the English language. That high-pressure environment tested me, sharpened my fluency, and funded my next chapter: exploring Asia.

I spent three months in Rishikesh, India, grounding myself in meditation and yoga. As I traveled onward through Thailand and Vietnam, connecting deeply with local communities, my perspective permanently shifted. I realized my true calling wasn't just to travel but to be genuinely useful to someone else.

That realization led me to education. For this reason I am currently pursuing an accelerated US Bachelor's Degree in Educational Studies online, and I have already earned my Level 5 TEFL + Young Learners Certification.

Now, I am bringing this all together. I am relocating to Cambodia with a specific focus: to dedicate the next 6+ months to gaining rigorous, hands-on classroom experience while I complete my degree. I bring the discipline of a scientist, the adaptability of a global traveler, and a deep, genuine desire to help children thrive.

I did many jobs in my life . I started my career as a chemist. However ,I also worked with animals, on farms,construction,gardening and I’m a good cook. Moreover, I have always volunteered with animals and homeless people. Finally, I own a TEFL LV 5 and young learners certificate and I'm studying for an USA bachelor's degree in education.

I had a wonderful experience with Lisa and James. Their place is peaceful and surrounded by nature, perfect for slowing down and reconnecting.

Beautiful experience. Anji is nice and clever is pleasure to talk with her. She has amazing kids,very well educated and funny. The house is located in a calm place very near to the beach and bushwalking. Host very recommended ☺️.

I spent 2 weeks in Agnes water; it was an amazing experience. Ellie is a beautiful person and a nice cook , I really appreciated her kindness☺️.
The house is surrounded by nature and only 5 minutes from the beach, it's nice to work in the morning and enjoy the beach in the afternoon.

Michele came to us with a plan in mind of doing a course that would set him on a career. He was going to be independent and stay with us for longer than our normal period. When the course didn't pan out as hoped and he was available full time and needed to be catered for, that changed things in our plans.

Beautiful experience,the house is located into a forest. Lots of fun works to do . We spent nice weekends aswell, camping in incredible places. Thanks to Rowan that guided us to see hidden Australian gems.
