Hi everyone.
We are Marta and Simone, a lovely couple from Italy.
We are on a trip around south and North America, we can't wait to explore those wonderful lands and meet all their incredible natives.
We are joyful and friendly people , our passions are nature, food and music .
Simone has travelled in south east Asia and Australia volunteering in many countries.
Marta has an amazing spirit of adventure and she always crave for new experiences.
We are both hospitality workers with more than 10 years experience .
Marta was the sous chef of a Michelin star restaurant and Simone has bartended for many years.
We are very handy people , used to do every odd little job around the house , garden .
We love animals and gardening .

We enjoyed every single moment in this little paradise, a place where both soul an heart can rest and learn .

Very bad experience .
We spent 12 days there ,from 9/03/2025 to 21/03/2025
As usual , leaving a bad feedback in a page full of awesome feedback, feels always weird.
To start off we spoke with Katharina here on the platform but we had been redirected to Luciano's Whatsapp cause she is not there .
We agreed with him our arrival to be Sunday… read more 9/03/2025, we arrived around 1 p.m. and there was no one there .
Been trying to contact him for about 1 hours ,no reply . He the replied to us that he was not at the place ,then disappeared again.
After !!3HOURS!! waiting there with no news of him , around 4 p.m.we decided to leave the place, knowing that we had to reschedule everything and lose a lot of money.
Arrived at the bus stop down the road he finally appeared visibly drunk , apologizing with nonsense reasons.
He put us in a nice bungalow , but the next day he moved us in another house .
And here it started the absolute luck of communication . We don't speak Portuguese , but we speak Spanish and English so we could have found a way of communication . No the guy only speaks Portuguese .
He always seemed very annoyed about our presence, in the 12 days we had been there we saw him about 5/6 times , always no more than 2/3 ours , he is not living there and we were left absolutely alone for the 12 days , sometimes with a woman who was helping with the cleanings.
The first day he gave us 2 loafs of bread half pumpkin 2 zucchini and that was it , no food whatsoever, we had to regularly go in town (30 min bus) to get food that we paid.
We woke up every day at 7 / 7:30 and text him about the task that we should have done, no answer for 1 /2 hours. than we would tell us to do something that we had to immagine how to do.
During the 12 days we had been moved other 3 times cause he kept messing with the guest bookings.
Zero comunication he barely spoke to us .
We couldn't leave before cause we booked flights and we couldn't have a refund.
The place is in the middle of the forest, even if you put the repellent 3 times a day you get 30 mosquito bites , and of course both of us caught the dengue .
Cherry on top of the cake , On Wednesday 19/3 he told us that we had to leave on Friday 21/3 of course be whatsapp text , so we had to leave with no forewarning.
Absolutely a nightmare experience , if this is the way you deal with volunteers I highly suggest you to cancel your account , this is absolutely not what volunteering is about.
Don't go there !!

Pasamos dos semanas en este maravilloso lugar. Iohanna y la pequeña Luz siempre nos hicieron sentir como en casa, recibiéndonos con los brazos abiertos.
