Hi all!! My name is Marin, nice to meet you!
I grew up exploring the Canadian Rockies and was lucky enough to have gone on road trips around western Canada and the USA. This upbringing has left me with a burning passion for traveling. Now that I am older and on my own, my horizons have opened up much more!! I am excited to explore overseas and experience many different cultures and lifestyles!
I work seasonally in the rockies for Parks Canada and love the time I get to spend hiking and exploring outdoors. In the off season, I try to go abroad and have working holiday experiences in new countries! Most recently, I lived in Japan for 6 months working in a traditional guesthouse and studied Japanese! Before that I spent many months abroad roadtripping and helping with permaculture projects in Australia, and then I explored parts of Southeast Asia!
I am now looking forward to my next adventure overseas! Maybe I can join you? ^^

More details about your skills
I have had work experience in all kinds of fields, but am also incredibly adaptable and a quick learner. I currently work in Banff National Park as a ranger, monitoring highways and campgrounds, human-wildlife interactions/conflicts, and taking care of visitors. It is an incredibly quickly changing environment so I am very good at adapting and problem solving on the go. I am capable of working in a fast paced environment, and am great with customer service. I am patient, and can settle conflicts if ever they arise. For 4 years I worked with my childhood competitive swim team as a coach, and have experience with children from ages 4 to 11. I love kids and get along with them well, as well as being able to communicate complex topics with them in ways they can understand. Specific to this job, I am a very strong swimmer, and have CPR and first aid training as well.
Other jobs I have done in the past include being a stablehand, commercial line cook, waitress and foodrunnner, sales/retail at an antique shop, construction site infrastructure scaler, and working at a trap/clay shooting range.
Non-professional skills I have gained over the years are outdoor/camping expertise, gardening and plant experience, housekeeping/cleaning, and animal care.Age

What else ...
Some of my favourite things to do include hiking, spending time with animals, photography/filmmaking, reading, swimming, art, history, camping, watching movies, Formula 1, writing, and much more. I have a big interest in environmental and animal conservation.
