Hello, thank you for exploring my profile. 🌿🌳
**I'm looking for pet sitting / house sitting / farm sitting / plant sitting - I'm available from a few days up to 2 weeks in 2025, possibly even last minute, anywhere in Spain (city, town, rural or isolated, mainland or on the Spanish islands).**
Please NOTE: I am not interested in opportunities involving teaching English, caring for children or language exchanges. 🦋
Being a dog, plant and land guardian myself, in a rural mountainous area of Asturias Spain, I know how stressful it can be to find someone trustworthy with lots of animal care and plant care experience, and also someone who has the confidence to stay alone in your home if you're away; that you have confidence in too. I hope I can be that person for you. For me, I get fulfilled by meeting new animals and plants, natural spaces, new routes to walk, having a change of scenery and exploring different cultures and places.🌲
I've studied a BTEC National Diploma in Animal Care, a BSc Hons in Wildlife Conservation, a PgDip in Youth & Community work and a PgCert in Ecology & Spirituality - so I bring training, knowledge and skills too :) ...And, I have tonnes of experience in all of these four areas. I've worked as a wildlife conservationist and community worker for years. Currently I'm a Nature writer and a Trustee of an environmental charity. I've also developed and led numerous youth, environmental and community programmes across the globe; having worked with people from 32 + different countries, and whilst living in Ecuador, Zambia, Uganda and Kenya.🌾
I've looked after all kinds of animals over my lifetime, for myself and other people, including: dogs, cows, cats, axolotls, horses, chickens, geese, ducks, donkeys, lizards, fish, amphibians, goats, sheep, snakes, insects like tarantulas, scorpions and praying mantis, small mammals etc. and lots of wildlife, animals in rehabilitation and plants. I used to work as a licensed bat surveyor and cared for injured bats when I worked in ecology roles in the UK. In my youth, I worked on a dairy farm, in pet stores and at rescues too. I also cared for unwanted exotic pets - I hope that helps you to see that I love all beings and have the experience to perhaps look after yours. 🐮
Compared to other people that I know, I do tend to be less interested in socialising and I need my private time. However, I'm very friendly; people often comment on how super smiley, kind and enthusiastic I am, and I love meeting new people and chatting about experiences, travel etc. - I just value privacy as well. 🌄
I'm 42 and married to my Spanish husband, he's from Asturias, and we've been together for 16-years. We settled into his ancestral lands eight years ago, a month later our Carea Leones dog Bowie arrived (My husband will stay at home with Bowie when I help you out - I travel alone). We're surrounded by plenty of wildlife and have no children. Our little cottage is in a village of just 15 people at the near top of a mountain, and we have an even more isolated stone cabin in the middle of mountains.🐺
I'm used to living off-grid and staying in very basic conditions. A private bedroom/sleeping area is imperative for me. Although I'm not vegetarian I will absolutely 100% respect and live by the rules in your home and eat only vegetarian or vegan food, if preferred. And any other rules I must follow - I will.🤗
I'd love to help out if I'm right for you and you're right for me. 😊
Thank you,

Feather bedding - birds are absolutely fine - I've had chickens, cared for all kinds of birds and I look after my neighbours geese regularly!Special dietary requirements
No, none at all, except that Octopus are one of my favourite animals, so I refuse to eat them; plus, from a biological point of view they're pretty magical and unique so they get my full respect. 🐙 I will adapt to any dietary requests in your home.
