Description

I have a fine arts degree in painting. I have worked as a calligrapher & illustrator since 2009. I have written three books on calligraphy and illustrated several books, both fiction and non-fiction.

I have diverse gardening & farm experience. I completed a biodynamic beekeeping and farming apprenticeship in 2022, at Spikenard Bee Sanctuary in Floyd, Virginia.

Illustration|Artistic skills: calligraphy & lettering; editorial illustration; illustration for books; Logo design; maps; signage. Writing.

Farm/ Garden skills: Seeding; seed stratification; planting; weeding & tending; harvesting vegetables, flowers, herbs; drying herbs; making potting soil; building compost piles; setting up irrigation systems; propagate plants with cuttings; planting hedgerows. Planting and maintenance of a prairie

Biodynamic Beekeeping skills: catching a swarm; hiving a swarm; opening a hive for basic health check; feeding a hive; weekly mite counts (Langstroth Hives); cleaning boxes & hives between use; processing honey; making propolis tincture; making beeswax salves, lotions, and candles.
