Description
Hello, we are Eric and Joan and we have been involved with horses all our life. I’m an adventurist myself and we love doing things outside such as hiking, rock climbing, scuba diving, etc. We travel frequently to explore new destinations even if it is just down the road. If you like riding horses a lot, this is the place for you. However, we only accept those with strong equestrian backgrounds.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We love meeting and hosting people from all over the World and travel ourselves every chance we can to discover new destinations and cultures. While here we will help you with your equestrian skills. We will help you explore the Memphis area and share with you some of our favorite places. You will be off 3 days a week and will be given the opportunity to explore other cities like Nashville and New Orleans. Hiking and biking opportunities are abundant in the area. Of course you will also get to do a lot of horse riding.

Help
Please note, due to the large amount of requests we receive, we only accept those who can stay a minimum of 8 weeks. We would like our applicants to be confident and skilled horse equestrians. It doesn't matter if your background is in English riding or Western. Strong preference for equestrians with experience in endurance racing, cross country or race track experience. Please be honest about your experience. If you arrive and we see you weren't honest, we will ask you to leave. You will be required to help out 4 days a week. Help consist of feeding, grooming, tacking and riding our horses. We also do a lot of endurance races with our horses and would prefer people that might have interest in that.

Accommodation
Our home is located in Memphis, Tennessee. We have 2 private bedrooms and 2 bunk bedrooms. We usually have 4 or more volunteers at our place. We have a lot of entertainment at our home such as a swimming pool, a billiards table, a shuffleboard table, tv with Netflix, Hulu and prime. A lot of our volunteers enjoy the local scene by going out and doing things like line dancing. Food will be provided by us but we ask that you help with meal preparation and clean up. There is no smoking allowed indoors.
What else ...
Memphis is known as an international tourist destination mainly because of its rich music history and culture. You will be able to spend your free time exploring and discovering Memphis and the Mid South region. We will be happy to assist you in getting around the area.
