Hello, I am Laura, 26 years old and from Austria in Europe.
The nature is my passion and haven of tranquility.
Description

Servus,
may I introduce myself: Laura (26)- an animal-crazy nature lover who enjoys being outdoors and muck in wherever needed.

Giving free rein to my creativity means to me: creating new cake and bread recipes, sewing a costume for my little sister, trying to learn the guitar and painting the walls.
To do something with my hands brings joy in my life, because of that I did a vocational job as a house-painter.

My familiy is very important to me. I spend a lot of time with them and if there is someone who needs help, I am always there. E.g. helping my aunt at her suckler cow husbandry, feeding the chicken and pigs, planting trees in the forest of my uncle and so on.

I am grown up in the countryside with a big orchard. We mostly have pears, apples, plums and kriecherl (type of plum), but also grapes and aronia. I love harvesting season. I always try to preserve as much as possible. We store the apples in a root cellar and make our own apple juice. This year I created different jellys. I love to try something new, for example homemade sweets made from dried fruits.

I would like to find a host, which I can help with my skills and where I can learn something new. I am looking forward to a memorable time where we are working with a smile on the face.

Painting
I worked as a professional house painter. I especially like to prime walls. My father makes internal plaster from clay (professional). I sometimes help him, it is a hard, muddy work, but the final result is amazing.

Farming
I attended an agricultural school and I have made a work experience at a little organic dairy farm in the mountains of Austria for a months. I also have experience with poultry.

Gardening
I cut the branches of our trees, we have a big orchard. Harvesting time is the most time-consuming part of the year - but my favorite :)
I also grow vegetables in my garden. Last year I concentraded on tomatoes and sweetcorn. I harvest my own seeds, which I plant the next year.

Child sitting
I also have a qualification in childcare and because of my little six year old sister I have a lot of practice.

Cooking/ baking
I love baking and I always try to create new recipes, including self made chocolate bars. I also like cooking. I would really like to prepare typical Austrian dishes like Wiener Schnitzel, Mohnnudeln or Kaiser Schmarren for you. I am also open-minded to new dishes from other countries. For some times I get stuck into fermentation - I have a kombucha and make my own Sauerkraut.

Too much time has passed, since I left this paradise, and also now I wished I could still be there! Melanie really lives in a magical place and I really don´t know a lot of people like Melanie! She is such a powerful and positive minded person, that everybody can learn a lot from her!
It´s a pleasure to spend time with her, whether we are going … read more hiking together, playing games, going on a road trip or working together in the land.🌴
Melanie really wanted us to have a wonderful experience! She gave us rides to different places very often, we hiked to magical places in the Hawaiian nature and swam next to the most beautiful waterfall together, which we would have never found without her. We enjoyed exotic food with her, like jackfruit seeds, green papaya, fried ulu and soursop, ending the day with one (or more) game of Yahtzee or let our emotions free during the drum circle. We did so much joyful things together!😃
The workday past over so fast. I did so much different things: working in the land, processing fruits, taking care of the chicken and ducks, but I also painted her rooms and sewed her a lot of things. I really felt like her private tailor, which was a honor to me! Helping at the farmers market on Fridays also was fun.🥥
Melanie is such a nice person! She always wanted me to feel well. I could always tell her, if I had a problem with something and she was always open minded to change things. I had so much luck to be at her place, I still cannot believe it.🥰 The accommodation was very nice too! I miss the sound of the horses in the night, which where very close to my cabin.
People in Hana are very nice in general. We met a lot of Melanie´s friends, which are all warmhearted ! Also strangers are very helpful and it is easy to make friends. There are so many activities in Hana you can do, like dance or yoga classes and everybody is welcome. I arrived at Melanie´s alone, but I found a friend, which also came as workaway, and we spent a lot (!) of time together.😄
This all makes it extremely hard to say goodbye and go back home...
And the nature! - I love the jungle, the fruits, the coconuts, the ocean (to which we could go by foot) and the animals (especially the chicken everywhere😁). The dogs Kiko and Archie are also very lovely!
I am so glad that I could stay in this paradise two month and I would love to come back! It changed me so much. I feel so strong, powerful, healthy and happy. I didn´t feel like this for years. When I came back to Austria I really felt like another person! The time there was a healing time for me. I really appreciate that Melanie made it possible for me!❤
