Description
Hi Everyone, we are team of volunteers (Mirko from Germany 37, Luki from Austria 24, Léonie from France 25, myself Fruzsina from Hungary 30 and slowly but surely expanding 😃) managing a 270 hectare probably over a 100 years old olive and horse finca in Villamartín, Andalusia. On the farm there are 65 arab horses, olive plantation, ecological olive mill, chicken, ducks, turkeys, donkeys and sheep. We are working to have an ecological garden so we can become self sustained as much as possible. We have many spots on the farm with fenced garden, fruit trees, garden beds and vegetable plant pots. There are three houses with rooms, container houses and caravans so we can accommodate a lot of people this is why we decided to take on volunteers so they can learn about farming, olives, the mill, birds, gardening and just whatever else you find here that interests you. We also need some help with cleaning around, cooking, feeding chicken etc.
The owner of the farm is Ulrike an Austrian lady who moved here 40 years ago. She lost her partner in the first years and struggled to keep the place up and running on her own ever since. We helped here a lot but up until this day we're not making any profit. We make enough to live here and keep all the animals and plants well looked after. On top of that we lost Ulrike this August and it broke our hearts. We are on our own now and we want to continue with everything on the farm the way she teached us. It's a long way to get the place back onto its feet but we're putting all our energy and everything we have into it and we hope it will pay off one day.
All together, there's much to do and if you are an energetic individual who is interested in any of these activities, or would like to learn about it, this is the perfect place for you and you are the perfect helper for us. If you are passionate about horses, olives, garden, birds, building or all of them (even better if all of them, because so are we :)), if you would like to learn spanish or improve your engish, if you enjoy working outside, meet new people, live in harmony with nature, please contact us. We are looking forward to meeting you.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You can learn about self sustainable life, caring for animals, local foreging (wild asparagus, mushrooms etc. what the season offers :)) tree cutting and pruning, gardening, local cusine, learning spanish, english or german, Learn to use basic tools like chainsaw, screwdriver, flex or learn to drive a jeep or tractor if you are interested.
A bit of additional information just to avoid any awkwardness later 😃:
We are really in nature you won't hear any road traffic sirens etc but you hear dogs, roosters, donkeys horses shouting at random times.
Our electricity can go out but always comes back 😉
We have creatures like spiders and mice and if you're very very lucky you might even see a scorpion but noone ever got hurt by any of these.
We're farmers so there's a good chance that you will see animals dead. It's not nice and definitely not our goal but unfortunately comes with the lifestyle. Nature rules here and we let it rule.
We like to sit together in the evening and have a drink, play games, listen to music etc. but we will always respect anyone who prefers peace and quiet too.Help
Depending on what you are interestd in, or what the season allows us we have diffrent projects such as cleaning and renovation, cooking together, gardening and planting, looking after horses, ducks, chicken, turkyes, dogs&cats and olive season is knocking on our doors so any interested individual is welcome to join our experienced team and learn harvesting and milling while helping us.

During this last period, we've been setting up the rooms for future guests by fixing furniture, re-painting and giving these spaces a fresh look. I really hope I've been of some help.
