Hello, my name is Kevin. I am 35 years old, originally from the United States and my goal is to settle down in Ireland.

I arrived in France in February 2020, just before the pandemic, with the goal of reconnecting with my mother’s culture and improving my French. During a time when movement was heavily restricted, Workaway gave me the opportunity to discover the country in a meaningful way despite the circumstances.

Over the past six years I have passed, visited and lived in 17 countries across Europe. I have worked in youth hostels, restaurants and hotels in some of the most popular tourist destinations across the continent. I have traveled to various capital cities performing as an artist spreading joy while discovering new places. I have also volunteered with non profit associations helping to teach English as a foreign language. Ideally I would like to continue gaining experience as an English teacher, I have the CELTA certification and I have also had internships with language schools.

I am a French citizen and currently live in France, a country for which I have deep appreciation. The people have been incredibly welcoming, and I feel fortunate to have been embraced so warmly. That said, my long term goal is to settle down in the republic of Ireland—the only EU country where English is the primary official language—as I would like to return to living in an English-speaking environment. I miss speaking English daily with complete strangers and having deeper, more natural conversations.

I previously spent a few months in Dublin, where I worked and was officially registered with my PPS number. I have since left Ireland and am now hoping to return to once and for all. My goal is to find a Workaway opportunity—either paid or long-term volunteer—that can provide an address which would allow me to complete administrative steps such as opening an Irish bank account.

I understand that this is a significant commitment for a host. In return, I offer flexibility, reliability, fidelity and a positive attitude. I value open communication and will always do my best to contribute meaningfully to your project.
