Hello!
My name is Marijn - but most of my international friends call me Joanna (my second name).
I am a graduated veterinarian and voluntary teacher, but currently planning a long journey through Japan and South East Asia.
What I love about traveling is meeting new people and learn about different cultures. I also care about animal welfare, the environment and sustainability.
On a workaway, I am not just looking for a place to stay, but want to make new friends and learn about their culture and everyday life. I am willing to help out with almost everything, but I have the most experience with cooking, housework, gardening, animal care and childcare.
I speak fluent English, a little bit of Spanish and a very, very tiny bit of Japanese. (and Dutch of course).
My hobbies are baking, cooking, reading, dancing and hiking (in either nature or the city ; I like to explore both). I am not sure what else to tell about myself, but you are free to ask me anything you would like to know!
I've had two workaway experiences until now. There is some feedback about me at: https://www.workaway.info/936666819236-en.htmlInterests

I had a great time with them and the other workawayers.
The work we had to do was light and there was more than enough time to enjoy ourselves. They took us on all sorts of trips, like going to the concert in Odense or having a picknick on the beach and went out of their way to cook (delicious) vegetarian… read more
I stayed at Bridget's past November and I had a really good time staying with her and her family in Evanger. The house was very comfortable ; the meals we had together were really good and the house is beautifully located, but the best part of my stay was how welcome I felt and that I sort of became a… read more
I also really enjoyed taking care of the cats. Amongst others, we took care of a homeless, pregnant cat, who delivered her youngs during my stay. Before I left, we found a permanent sanctuary for her.
Would recommend this… read more
