Hi, I'm Izzie! I'm from Seattle, Washington and I'm a nature lover with passions for music, tiny things, and regenerative design. I believe in humans' role as being stewards of the environment and am looking to gain hands-on experience working with the earth for mutual prosperity. I love hiking, walking, cooking, playing guitar, singing, learning new things, and learning about new people.

I work full time as a Behavior Technician, providing ABA therapy to kids on the Autism spectrum in public schools here in Seattle. I have worked with kids aged 2-18 in lots of different settings. Through this line of work, I've gotten my CPR certification, a Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification, and have skills in behavior management and nonverbal communication.
I also work part time as a guitar teacher, and giving private lessons to people ages 7-83. I would love to continue teaching guitar while I'm abroad, as it teaches me so much about guitar in return!!
I coach Double Dutch (jump roping) for kids in the community through a youth empowerment organization called Double Dutch Divas.
I can cook vegetarian meals!
I have experience with hand tools, I bought, designed, and built out a van to live in and travelled down the west coast of the U.S. I handmade (and hand sourced) wire-wrapped gemstone jewelry ~and accoutrement~ and also fell into the role that I love so much now, a Behavior Technician, to support myself while travelling. I made lots of new friends, art, and gained an unfortunate amount of knowledge about the 1997 Chevy Astro's mechanics.
I studied sustainable ecotourism at ULatina in Costa Rica and participated in a service project at a local preschool designing and creating a sensory garden.
I have a bachelor's degree in Interior Design with a minor in regenerative built environments, from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
I have experience tending to gardens, planting, weeding, tilling, harvesting (in my homeland PNW climate- would love to learn more about different farming methods other places in the world)
I have experience caring for cats- grew up with cats, currently have a cat, Captain, he's the light of my life, and I would be honored to spend some time with others' lights.
I'm organized, I clean up after myself, easygoing and open communicator
