Description

We're a Dutch couple from Amsterdam going strong since 2022. As life it too short, we decided to escape the office life to explore the outdoor lifestyle in New Zealand on a working holiday visa. We're excited to explore the country but we're also eager to gain some different experiences doing various (seasonal) jobs.

Elisabeth (31) has a bachelor's degree in Communication and a master's in Journalism. For the last 2,5 years she worked at the communication office at the University of Amsterdam as a (web)editor.

Ilse (29) has a bachelor's and master's degree in Geo-Information Science. She spent 4,5 years working for the company Bombs Away as a GIS-specialist researching the risk of remaining unexploded bombs from WW2.

Our big passion together is traveling: we hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, explored Romania and went surfing in Sri Lanka. When we're home and working, we usually spend our evenings watching a good movie or serie, playing boardgames (like Scrabble) or reading a book with a cup of tea (and sometimes red wine).

Besides this, Elisabeth enjoys to skateboard, play any sport with a racket and occasionally writes and performs stand-up comedy. Whereas Ilse likes to draw, write, and listen to Taylor Swift. She also has been dancing modern jazz most of her life.

Elisabeth has also been to Australia on a working holiday visa in 2017/2018. There she spent a year working various jobs. She did reception work, housekeeping, bartending, picking zucchinis and tomatoes, and she worked as a salesperson and a kitchen hand. Besides that, she's the problem solver and easily thinks out of the box!

Ilse has experience with painting furniture, taking care of plants and operating a drill for household chores. According to Elisabeth, she is also a great cook. Ilse's specialty in life is planning & organization!
