About Me
Hi there! I’m a university student from Israel looking to spend about a month of my summer vacation experiencing the beautiful culture, language, and countryside of Portugal. I am a native Hebrew speaker and an absolute beginner in Portuguese, but I am incredibly eager to practice, learn, and immerse myself in the local way of life.
I am a hard-working, positive, and adaptive person who catches on quickly to new tasks. I actually have prior experience with this kind of volunteering—a few years ago, I volunteered at an animal shelter in Canada through a similar exchange. Because of that, I already know how the Workaway dynamic works, what it means to be a good guest, and how to jump right into a routine.
Why I Want to Volunteer & My Interests
My main passion for this trip is working with animals, especially horses! I had some brief experience with horses when I was younger, and after my time volunteering with animals in Canada, I know how fulfilling this work is. Though I wouldn’t call myself a horse expert yet, I have a deep respect for them and love being around them. I am highly motivated to help with daily care, feeding, and chores. If there is an opportunity for riding or taking riding lessons, that would be an amazing bonus, but my primary goal is simply to help out, learn, and be part of the daily farm or ranch life -
