 - Description- Hi, I’m Erica! I have been traveling on and off for over 3 years now and have fallen in love with the backpacker lifestyle. I have had the pleasure of 2 Workaway experiences so far and can’t wait for more!
Currently I am traveling in South America. I speak Spanish (high intermediate level) and fluent English.
I have had many different jobs in a variety of sectors and I look forward to learning more skills that I can use in the future. I work very hard at everything I do and I feel the most pride when I accomplish things through dedication and effort. I would also describe myself as organized and clean, and would be a very respectful guest under any circumstances! That being said, I am outgoing and love to have fun, making the most out of all my experiences is one of my greatest goals!
Can't wait to get to know you!

 - More details about your skills- - Cleaning and general housework: I have always been an extremely organized person and have been hired several times by friends and family to clean and organize their homes. I have a talent for organization of all kinds, whether it be tidying a room or creating a system of managing paperwork for your business. I have always been very involved in the housework in my own home and I am very consistent about keeping my space clean, so I would be a great asset for performing household duties.
 - Caring for children: I volunteered at an American preschool for three years working with 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds, teaching lessons, reading, cleaning the classroom, and more. I was a counselor for 8-year-old camp children at an outdoor summer camp. I also have babysat many times for at least ten different families throughout the past decade, along with caring for my young cousins, and I consider myself an experienced caretaker for children of all ages.
 - Customer service: I provided service to customers as a cashier in a store and understand the importance of providing the best care to patrons. I also have worked with clients while working at a pension benefit firm, communicating with representatives of other companies to understand the needs of the client and the ways to create a mutually beneficial relationship as I provided them with a method of automating their benefit calculations.
 - Teaching: In addition to working in both the preschool and camp settings, I also have worked at an academic camp as well administering math and reading assessments to 9-year-old students with learning disabilities to help improve their skills. I also tutored high school students for several years on a variety of subjects. One day I plan to become a teacher, and use these skills to help the future generations, but for now as I travel I would be happy to teach English or some of my other skills such as computer and web use or fitness to my hosts or fellow Workawayers!
 - Website development and programming: I have worked on the visual interface of a website for a company that I worked for using Microsoft Visual Basic programming. I have used statistical programming software throughout my coursework in college and while working as a verification intern for a company specializing in surgical robotics. I also have experience working with Excel and with other proprietary computer programming software in which I use formulas to automate pension plans.
 - Communication: I pride myself on my ability to strike up conversations with new people and to make friends easily. I love learning about others' lives and talking to anyone I can because I feel that there is so much to learn from hearing someone's thoughts and opinions and experiences. English is my first language, but I have some ability with conversational French as well and would love to develop this skill further. I also have an interest in learning other languages and would be very happy for my cultural exchange to include an exchange of language as well.
 - Animal care: I love animals and would love to spend time taking care of them! I have had several pets including a dog, cats, crabs, fish, and frogs, and have spent a little bit of time caring for horses as well. Exotic animals are an interest of mine and I would be so excited to learn more about them.
