Hi! I’m Erdem — born and raised by the sea in Türkiye, with a Mediterranean spirit: warm, social, curious, and easy to connect with people. I enjoy good company, meaningful conversations, shared meals, and contributing in practical ways wherever I stay.

Recently, I have been volunteering in different places in South Africa:
• Farm in Swellendam
• Farm/lodge in Addo
• Farm in Storms River
• Surf lodge in Jeffreys Bay
and currently a guesthouse in Port Elizabeth.

In the surf lodge and my current guesthouse, I gained experience with check-in/check-out, guest communication, and guest satisfaction. I enjoy small talk, creating a friendly atmosphere, and helping guests feel comfortable.
I can also provide references from my previous hosts if needed.

During my farm experiences, I worked with horses and other ranch animals, supporting their daily care and general farm routines. I also used power tools, helped with basic repairs and maintenance tasks, and gained experience with tractor operations.

I come from a solid professional background. For many years, I worked as an engineer in construction, land surveying, drone mapping, and fiber-optic (ISP) infrastructure projects. Working in corporate environments taught me responsibility, reliability, teamwork, and safety awareness — values I bring to every place I stay.

I love cooking and sharing food, especially Turkish dishes like İmam Bayıldı and Menemen. For me, cooking is also a way to create connection.

On the creative side, I can create short promotional videos using drone and mobile footage, edited in CapCut or Canva, which hosts can use for social media or websites.

I also have a growing interest in DJing, music production, and sound design, and I am motivated to keep learning — especially in social and community environments.

I have strong outdoor and stamina-based skills, including:
• surfing (intermediate level)
• rock climbing / rope skills
• diving (CMAS 1★)
• paragliding (P2)
These experiences helped me build physical resilience, calmness under pressure, and comfort in nature.

I also have a background in martial arts: Aikido (black belt) and kickboxing (brown belt).

What matters most to me is real human connection: being useful, sharing effort, bringing good energy, and leaving a place better than I found it. I am calm, reliable, adaptable, and I genuinely enjoy helping — whether with physical work, creative support, cooking, or simply being a positive presence.
