Description
Hello, my name is Emilio, I originally come from Italy and I've been living and working in Austria for about 12 years now. I work here as a medical doctor, after some years in hospitals I decided that was not the setting for me and am now working with people with an alcohol addiction.
Had a gap year until March 2023 and had very nice volunteering experiences through Workaway. Spent a month in an animal Sanctuary in Hungary, a week teaching English in southern Vietnam and three months at a dog shelter in central Vietnam. I love how it allows to connect with the culture way more than just traveling as a tourist.
Besides work, I enjoy making music and playing concerts with my band (local indie-folk band here in Vienna), producing electronic music and DJing, playing videogames, exploring nature, cooking (especially making Neapolitan pizza, so crazy about it that I bought my own pizza oven :P ).
Although I might have defined myself as shy when growing up, I think many people would describe me as the opposite, once they get to know me. I really value straightforward, honest and authentic connections.
I am very looking forward to the experiences that I'll hopefully manage to make through workaway.
