Description
Hi there! We're a fun-loving, active family of five excited to host Workaway volunteers! Our household includes two adults and three energetic kids, our daughter is 9, and sons are 6 and 2. They are happy, inquisitive and active kids, who love sports, vacations, reading, crafting/puzzles and spending time with friends and family. We love spending time outdoors and are always up for an adventure! We live on an acreage, just outside of the town of Keremeos, BC.
Whether its gardening, DIY projects, family outings or just daily household rhythms, there's always something happening! Our two older kids are in school full time and the baby is home with me - we own and operate a fence contracting company based from our 8 acre property just outside of town.
If your enthusiastic, love being around kids, and don't mind getting your hands a little dirty (whether helping in the garden, kitchen, or with general household help), you'll fit right in. We value cultural exchange, good conversation, and positive energy!

Staying with us would be a genuine experience of our day-to-day lives, away from the populated tourist areas. We enjoy exploring our local areas and teaching our kids about traditions and history. We hope that we can learn from you about your language, customs and perspective and we hope to share ours with you as well! You'll get to experience daily family life in our corner of the world, meet our friends and neighbors, and see how we balance work, parenting and fun! If your learning English were happy to help you practice in a relaxed, supportive environment, and we hope you can teach us some of yours as well!

Help
We are a busy, friendly family of 5 looking for an extra pair of hands to support us in our day-to-day life with everyday tasks such as:
Household chores - Light cleaning, tidying, laundry, and general help to keep things running smoothly.
Help with the kids - Spending time with the children, playing, supervising, or helping with routines.
Meal prepping & cooking - Helping prepare meals, school lunches or cooking if you enjoy it!
Yard work & outdoor help - General gardening, weeding, mowing, or seasonal outdoor projects.
Errands & Grocery shopping - Picking up groceries or running occasional errands (a drivers license is helpful but not essential)
Were looking for someone responsible, easygoing and happy to jump in where needed. You don't need to be an expert - just kind, capable and ready to be a part of the team!Languages

We have a small cottage located on our property that features a kitchen, living space, one bedroom plus a den and bathroom. The cottage has a private porch with BBQ and seating area. The way the cottage is situated, you will have your own lawn space and are very welcome to walk around and access our entire property. We live on the edge of the Similkameen River, just steps away from the front of the cottage - which offers stunning views!
When it comes to meals, we are definitely looking for help in the kitchen and hoping to share recipes, traditional foods and learn from each other! We would love for you to enjoy meals with us- however, we are flexible on this, as you will have your own home and kitchen, we are also happy to provide food and you can cook for yourself if that is your preference! A mix of the two would be great as well! What else ...
Keremeos is known as the fruit stand capital of Canada - the town is bustling with fruits and vegetables, wineries and orchards. The town is set in the Similkameen valley between steep mountains, with the Similkameen River running through the middle. We are about a 30 minute drive to Penticton and Osoyoos which are both known for their beaches and scenic views. We are about a 40 minute drive from the Apex Mountain Ski Resort, which we enjoy going to in the winter as our kids are learning to ski.
We also have a cabin on the Arrow Lake in the Kootenay region of BC. Where we enjoy hiking, fishing, exploring the area, snowmobiling and visiting the local hot springs. We would love for someone to join us on trips and outings to enjoy the experience but also give us a hand with the daily activities!
You will have access to a vehicle if you have a valid drivers license and you wish to explore the area on your own!A little more information
