Description
We packed up our lives in New Zealand in June of 2019 and relocated to Australia with a backpack each. We bought a small caravan and 4WD on arrival in Queensland and began our adventure. This has included every state in Australia, lots of SE Asia and most recently Peru and Bolivia as well as frequent trips home to family in Wellington.
We have spent our time with a great mix of volunteering, exploring, paid work, camp hosting and traveling.
We love the outdoors and are always keen to hike and explore our surroundings.
Our adventure began as a year away but have loved our simple lifestyle and the freedom to explore, see wonderful sights, meet new people and gain new experiences so we have extended indefinitely.
Our first grandchild was born in May 2025 with our second due at the end of February 2026 and they are both in Wellington so we are planning on spending the next year or longer closer to them.

We had a wonderful Workaway experience with Marie and Graeme. They are both so thoughtful and helpful. We were heading south to see family for a few weeks prior to our Workaway and they kindly suggested we leave our caravan at their place which worked out perfectly for us and saved us towing it unnecessarily for a few hundred kms.

We loved it! Gaye was a fabulous host. So friendly, so informative, so enthusiastic and energetic, and such a personality. Her meals were amazing, the property is gorgeous, the wildlife great and Dolly the dog super cute.
We were given lots of small projects and just enjoyed helping out and being a small part of this off grid property.
