Hi there, my name is Asaph but most people call me Aza. I originate from Brazil but have been living in New Zealand for 20 years.

I’ve worked in a professional environment for all my adulthood and now I feel like I need a good change of pace. I miss being in nature and having genuine interactions with humans that aren’t transactional.

I’m quite spontaneous and am up for most adventures so long it doesn’t involve heights as I’m terrified. I love animals and am generally pretty good around them as i used to co-run run an animal sanctuary in Marlborough, New Zealand.

I truly enjoyed my stay at Dominique's place and would highly recommend it to anyone considering a Workaway experience.
Dominique kindly picked me up from Morcenx train station on a Sunday afternoon, and that evening he cooked dinner for the two of us. It was the perfect welcome, and the meal was absolutely delicious—a great introduction to his … read more incredible cooking.
On my very first day, we went down to the lake for a swim and a yoga session, something Dominique enjoys as part of his daily routine. It was a fantastic way to start my stay and immediately made me feel relaxed and at home.
During my time there, I helped with a variety of projects, including installing accessories in his awesome little camper, doing yard work, and helping with general cleaning. Dominique is very flexible with the daily schedule, as long as you complete your five hours of work, which creates a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
One of the highlights of my stay was spending evenings in Dax and Mont-de-Marsan, where we would go dancing salsa, bachata, and kizomba. To my surprise, Dominique is an absolute legend on the dance floor! Whether you're an experienced dancer or a complete beginner, you'll have a great time.
The food deserves a special mention. Dominique is an outstanding cook, and I was lucky enough to enjoy some incredible homemade meals throughout my stay. His pear, peach, and chocolate pie was honestly one of the best desserts I've ever had. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a cook myself, so I didn't contribute much in the kitchen, but I learned a lot from Dominique and left with new skills and confidence that I can now put into practice.
There's always something to do around the property, with plenty of interesting projects to get involved in, so it's hard to ever feel bored. Dominique also has several bicycles available, which I often used to ride to the lake or down to Contis during my free time. It was a great way to explore the beautiful local area.
Overall, this was a fantastic Workaway experience. Dominique is welcoming, easygoing, generous with his knowledge, an amazing cook, and great company. I left with wonderful memories, new skills, and a genuine appreciation for the time I spent there. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here.

J'ai vraiment apprécié mon séjour chez Dominique et je le recommande vivement à quiconque envisage une expérience Workaway.
Dominique a eu la gentillesse de venir me chercher à la gare de Morcenx un dimanche après-midi et, le soir même, il a préparé le dîner pour nous deux. C'était un accueil parfait et le repas était absolument délicieux : une excellente introduction à sa cuisine incroyable.
Dès mon premier jour, nous sommes allés au lac pour nous baigner et faire une séance de yoga, une activité que Dominique intègre à sa routine quotidienne. C'était une façon fantastique de commencer mon séjour ; je me suis immédiatement senti détendu et comme chez moi.
Pendant mon séjour, j'ai participé à divers projets, notamment l'installation d'équipements dans son superbe petit camping-car, des travaux de jardinage et le ménage courant. Dominique fait preuve d'une grande souplesse quant à l'emploi du temps quotidien, tant que l'on effectue ses cinq heures de travail, ce qui crée une atmosphère détendue et agréable.
L'un des moments forts de mon séjour a été de passer des soirées à Dax et à Mont-de-Marsan pour danser la salsa, la bachata et la kizomba. À ma grande surprise, Dominique est une véritable légende sur la piste de danse ! Que vous soyez danseur expérimenté ou grand débutant, vous passerez un excellent moment.
La cuisine mérite une mention spéciale. Dominique est un cuisinier hors pair et j'ai eu la chance de déguster des plats faits maison incroyables tout au long de mon séjour. Sa tarte poire, pêche et chocolat était honnêtement l'un des meilleurs desserts que j'aie jamais mangés. Malheureusement, je ne suis pas très doué en cuisine et je n'ai pas beaucoup participé à la préparation des repas, mais j'ai beaucoup appris auprès de Dominique ; je suis reparti avec de nouvelles compétences et une confiance que je peux désormais mettre en pratique.
Il y a toujours quelque chose à faire sur la propriété, avec de nombreux projets intéressants auxquels participer, si bien qu'il est difficile de s'ennuyer. Dominique met également plusieurs vélos à disposition ; je les ai souvent utilisés pour me rendre au lac ou à Contis pendant mon temps libre. C'était un excellent moyen de découvrir la magnifique région.
Dans l'ensemble, ce fut une expérience Workaway fantastique. Dominique est accueillant, facile à vivre, généreux de son savoir, un cuisinier hors pair et une compagnie très agréable. Je suis reparti avec de merveilleux souvenirs, de nouvelles compétences et une réelle appréciation du temps passé sur place. Je recommanderais sans hésiter un séjour ici.
