  • Description

    Hi there!

I’m a 26-year-old Belgian woman with an incredible urge to explore more of the world. As a psychologist, I’ve had the privilege over the past few years to experience genuine connections with others and engage in deep conversations about ‘what truly matters’. I discovered what brings me true joy: living in a community, immersing myself in different cultures, needing nothing more than my backpack, and simply being outdoors in nature.

What might define me most is my enthusiasm and curiosity. Aside from my warm energy and natural ability to work with people, I currently have little knowledge or experience in other areas. That’s what i'm hoping to find in my future travels. I’m eager to work more with my hands, use my body, and contribute to something meaningful. I would love to learn how to build things from collected materials, chop wood, use a drill, an angle grinder (or whatever tool in the shed), help maintain existing ecosystems, gain knowledge about local biodiversity and selfsustainability, learn which plants serve as natural medicine, and so much more!

I love being creative—painting on windows, burning mandalas into wood, finding things on the street and repurposing them with some DIY, capturing moments on camera, decorating people with henna designs, and so on. My mind thrives on creating and creation. And while I may not be the 'strongest' or 'most muscular' person in the room, my enthusiasm and endurance bring a strong commitment to the table.

Ofcourse what you read now is a big part of me. But don't mistake my enthousiasm for an overload of energy that might feel bombastic. I'm someone that appreciates my space and respect yours. My energy is calm, open and sensitive. People describe me more as a 'space holder' than a 'space taker'.

At the end, I’m looking for a place where I can be curious and full of wonder. Where people are open to sharing a glimpse of their life, culture, and what makes them happy. A place with someone who doesn’t mind explaining some things to me and enjoys teaching new skills. A space where I have the chance of contributing my energy to the environment and community.

  • More details about your skills

As you could already gather from my description, my main expertise is in social skills. I have a lot of experience working with groups. I've facilitated inner growth group circles through creativity and reflective processes, worked with children and young adults in specialized youth care and was a coach for projects such as YAR (Youth at Risk). Additionally, I’ve become a trusted "dog-sitter" in, helped care for elderly people in my neighborhood and love entertaining children (It’s such a joy to join them in their imaginative worlds! 😉).

In terms of creative skills, I’m good at photography and video editing. I’ve built websites, created logos for professionals and generally have a good eye for graphic design. Outside of that, I’ve also sanded, plastered, and painted several walls in the past. So, feel free to put me to work in your home!

When I was 18, I traveled solo for a year in New Zealand under a working holiday visa. During my time there, I worked as a cleaning assistant in hostels and high-end motels. In recent years, I’ve also worked in various hospitality businesses: from barista to server in lunch bars and fine-dining restaurants.

Throughout my year long travels in South-America, I’ve been part of different communities where I helped with cooking, maintaining the land and other daily chores. I've gathered some basic permaculture skills and working in community setting. There’s still a lot to learn in areas like sustainability, gardening, carpentry, and so much more. I hope to continue expanding my skill set during my travels.

  • What else ...

    ENGLISH:
My wonderful partner and I have decided to leave home and travel together for two years. We want to break free from our Western bubble and explore alternative ways of thinking, living and co-existing with others and nature. I’ll be starting my journey a few months earlier and will be traveling solo at first. I answered "yes" to the question of whether I'm a smoker. My goal is to quit smoking before I start traveling. However, if that plan doesn’t go as smoothly as hoped, I am determined and capable of not smoking during my Workaway stay. All the respect to your house-rules!

I love knowing random facts about others, so I thought I’d share a few about myself:
    - I enjoy eating with small spoons and can get completely mesmerized by a campfire.
    - I can’t stand QR codes, electric pepper mills or steps , and all the technology that (in my opinion) is completely unnecessary.
    - Ecstatic dance is truly my thing! Though, I can still be a bit shy when it comes to contact-dancing with others. A good comfort zone to step out off!
