Description
Hi! My name is Anna. It's nice to meet you! I’m twentyone years old and I come from the Czech Republic. I’m currently in my second year of studying at a veterinary university.
I have a dog named Ebie, who is a small mix from a shelter. She is such a joyful and kind soul, with a truly unique personality. Even though I’ve had her for almost six years now, she still struggles with some fears — mainly from extremely loud and chaotic places like the city. It can be difficult at times, but it’s also taught me a lot about dog behavior and training and I am still trying my best to learn more about it. I’d love to share or exchange knowledge on this topic :)
In addition to dogs, I’m passionate about all kinds of animals. I haven’t yet decided on a specific area of specialization for my career, and I’m open to various directions. This year, I volunteered a little at a horse clinic at university, and horses are definitely something I’d love to learn more about. In the past, I had the opportunity to ride at a stable where we used Pat Parelli’s techniques and positive training methods. We worked with the horses both from the saddle and on the ground. Unfortunately, I can’t say I’m a confident rider, even though I spent a few years trying to learn how to ride well. I haven’t ridden a horse properly in the last three years, though.
I’ve been a Girl Scout for ten years, and for the last six years, I’ve been a leader for younger children. For those of you who are not familiar with scouting - its goal is to improve the world by helping raise responsible, compassionate young people. I believe that if I hadn’t joined my scout group so long ago, I would be a completely different person. Every summer, we spend three weeks in nature—without electricity or running water—and we sleep in tents. I can’t express how much this connection to nature has shaped me. I was always the kid who didn’t want to leave camp, as returning home meant saying goodbye to that special experience.
Outside of scouting and spending time with my dog, I enjoy cooking, doing yoga, writing, and reading. I’m a vegetarian, but my roommate is vegan, so I love trying new vegan recipes and learning about vegan alternatives from her. It would be a pleasure for me to cook for my hosts.
I love discovering the world by connecting with one place and the people who live there. For me, being a workawayer means connecting with you, my host, sharing knowledge, and offering help. I’m grateful for every opportunity to experience other cultures.
Thank you for reading and I hope to see you soon :)

I started to learn English when I was in the kindergarten, German when I was in third grade at a grammar school and Slovenian just last year. Unfortunately, I rarely get an opportunity to practice any of those languages - so I would be very grateful to use them during my stay. I would also love to share a bit about my mother language and my country.

More details about your skills
I spent 3 years at a horse ranch in my hometown. I learned there how to take care of them (cleaning the boxes, grooming,...) but I am most grateful for the experiences from the work with horses. We used innovative metods such as positive communication, working from ground or clicker training.
During Covid-19 I had the opportunity to take care of my own garden. We grew there all kinds of vegetable and herbs and we even built a small greenhouse.
Every year I am spending a three weeks on summer camp surrounded woods. We don´t have any stable building, just special tents and teepees. Week before children comes we renovate and rebuild the whole camp, therefore I am used to work with saw and axe.
Last year, I had my first volunteer experience in Slovakia. We helped at an archeologic important ruin of monastery.
