Description
During 2024 I took a year out from full time work, to experience new cultures, ways of life & improve linguistic skills. I absolutely adored the experience & made amazing friendships along the way. It certainly planted the seed for future adventures.
I've currently working full time in the UK, in a variety of charity, community development & sports related projects. I am still very keen to gain cultural experiences through Workaway. Albeit, shorter experiences in the short term. I am building the foundations for a longer term positive balance between sustainable income & life adventures. As a Workawayer I'll happily garden, paint, clean, care for animals & connect with people from all walks of life.

I grew up on a dairy farm on the edge of the Peak District (Staffordshire UK) studied Fashion & Design at College, & Business Admin at Uni. The majority of my working life has been focused on supporting people to help themselves, careers advice, volunteer brokerage, family support work and working for various charities. I'm now in my mid 40's, my last role was Deputy Manager for a charity that supported families settling in the UK after escaping war & presecution.
I enjoy gardening, painting & basic maintenance, e.g change a washer on a tap, light bulb in a car etc.. I have kept bees for 9 years until last year. The bees decided it was time for a break.
I'm pretty quiet & calm and love learning from other people.

I enjoy running, cycling, swimming, sewing, gardening, outdoors, country walks & discovering new places. I have a campervan & can be self sufficient whilst on a work away in Europe. I'm also a book worm, mostly reading about travel, life adventures & learning from people who have pushed beyond the boundaries.
