Joo is the best host we could ever have hoped for during our Workaway experience. He is kind, knowledgeable, encouraging, caring, multi-talented, multi-cultural, communicative, and incredibly fun. We felt so lucky to stay at Joo's place that we extended our visit—we just didn't want to leave! As crazy as it sounds, he felt more like a parent to us than our own. We were comfortable sharing everything with him, enjoying deep conversations about topics we wouldn’t normally discuss with friends or family. What Joo might not realise is that we were quite emotional and even shed a few tears the night before leaving. We absolutely loved the animals—Magic, Milk, Ram, the chickens, and the goats. The gardening work was super enjoyable, making this experience far more rewarding and memorable than any travel we've had in Europe so far. We're truly grateful for your kind, encouraging and wise words, and your truly amazing personality. We can't wait to return and visit Joo and the animals again soon!

Words cannot even begin to describe the kindness of the people of Salalah, it is something you have to experience for yourself. I spent 10 days with Mo'amar and his friends/family, but I could have easily stayed longer. Mo'amar is one of the funniest and most kind hearted people I have met in my entire life. You can talk to him about anything and he is so open minded. Everyone he introduced me to in Salalah and Taqa became my friend. Everyday we did something fun together, whether it was having dinner in the desert, going to admire the lush greenery of the Dhofar Khareef season, discovering the history of frankincense, milking cows on the mountain, or listening to Ashraf sing some Arabic songs in his studio whilst eating Chips Oman. I even mastered the local dance thanks to Mo'amar's cousin teaching me, and got some beautiful traditional clothes. Not to mention, the food is incredible here and Mo'amar made sure I tried everything that was local. I cannot recommend this experience enough, it will always be in my heart and I truly felt at home. I can also say that I made some real friends that I will stay in touch with. Thank you for everything!

Romina war zehn Tage bei uns und hat uns in dieser Zeit großartig unterstützt. Sie war unglaublich fleißig beim Unkrautjäten, hat zuverlässig die Pflanzen gegossen und sich engagiert um die Versorgung unserer Tiere gekümmert. Zudem war sie immer freundlich, hilfsbereit und offen für alles. Besonders haben wir die anregenden und interessanten Gespräche sowie die gemeinsamen Spaziergänge genossen. Vielen lieben Dank für deine tolle Hilfe und Unterstützung, Romina – wir haben die Zeit mit dir sehr geschätzt!

What an incredible family – amazing parents and such lovely daughters. Humaira and Maryam should be proud to have such wonderful parents. I had the privilege of being part of this kind and generous family for five days. From the very beginning, they gave me a private room and treated me like a guest, not just a volunteer who was supposed to help out a little. Safira’s cooking was fantastic, and during my stay I got to enjoy many delicious meals, even though I was supposed to cook for myself. But They generously shared their food with me every day. Honestly, I didn’t do much to help in this house, but I received so much kindness, respect, and care in return. One day I even went cycling with Zhafran and Maryam, and it was a great experience – it had been years since I last rode a bike, and I had so much fun. On the last night, we had a long conversation with Zhafran and Safira about travel and our own experiences, as well as those of our friends — and I truly enjoyed it. I’m deeply thankful to Zhafran and Safira for welcoming me and letting me stay with them for a few days. Thanks to Humaira for the delicious cake she made, and to little Maryam for teaching me some Malay words. BTY I’m sure one day I’ll see Humaira and Maryam on TV as tennis champions😎

In this short review, I am writing about my hosts, their place,the impact of people there,and state my view, Chandra is a beautiful soul and body.She is not only,caring,all-smiles,all-ears,well-organised, knowledgeable, hardworking, welcoming,but also,a very good Meditation and therapist teacher.As for Wim,he is a funny, smart, welcoming,kind, hardworking handyman,all-ears and suggestions,a good companion,but also,a good Mantra and meditation teacher. This is a beautiful retreat resort with a natural swimming pool,Sonna, river,trees,and three clean and well organised houses,caravans,tents... It's not far from villages .Too, there are two nice cats that will welcome you and hens that will give you organic eggs...The food is varied, high quality organic and delucious.the atmosphere is family like. The tasks are varied and tailored to your own skills, knowledge and experience.They are ranged from carpentery, plumbing, electricity,cooking, cleaning, renovating, organising.. All hosts, volunteers and guests have knitted a family -like connection through sharing cultural,personal and even secrets stories,fears, worries, expectations, due to the hosts care and the relaxing environment .Hence after a short time,we connected,laughed, teased eacher other,made jokes,kuddles huggs,played games ,exchanged anecdotes,secrets, cared for the sick ones,...in short,a new family was born out of new fathers,mothers, brothers,sisters and hopefully future soul-mates and lovers.... Last,but not least,this is a humble and consise summary that a feedback cannot circle.I feel that I learned a lot about myself in this amazing experience and hope to meet most ,if not all ,these nice people either at my place, theirs or somewhere in this beautiful world. Camila is one of those rare people who instantly makes a positive impact wherever she goes. During her one-month stay with us in Morogoro, Tanzania. Camila proved to be , super energetic, confident, independent, and incredibly hardworking. She has a unique ability to understand things quickly, always asking the right questions and taking initiative without waiting to be told what to do. Camila came with her own creative energy using infographics and videos to communicate our projects in ways we never imagined possible. She helped us summarize complex project documentation into simple, clear, and engaging formats, making it easier to reach out to supporters and friends globally. Beyond her work, Camila was an absolute joy to have around, charming, full of interesting stories blended into our family life. She became more than a volunteer, to part of the family. For any host expecting someone who can work hard, communicate effectively, and bring good energy to both work and home life, Camila is a "perfect choice". I personly highly recommend Camila without any hesitation and would love to host her again anytime!

Clara was here for a week. She helped me do all kind of things in my new house. And we did family constellations. ❤️ Clara is open, smart, fun to be with, learns fast (we did a lot of electricity, some computer things, we built a bed, and picked up two couches from marketplace). I can so much recommend her. And come back here, whenever you have time Clara.

Hosting you for your very first Workaway was an absolute honor — and from day one, it truly felt like we were welcoming long-lost family. Your warmth, creativity, and enthusiasm brought light to every corner of the project — from art and English lessons with the kids to the laughter-filled evenings and unforgettable adventures. My experience at Sara's farm was very nourishing. She has a beautiful property with lots of different projects, and she is very clear and helpful when explaining the tasks she wants you to do. There's no stress involved — everything is done in harmony with the place. Each morning begins with walking the funny sheep from their shelter to a parcel of land where they can eat fresh greens all day. After that, we usually did some weeding or small repairs for an hour or two, sometimes mixed with washing veggies or totes. We always finished by collecting the eggs and feeding the chickens during the last 30 minutes. So it’s about 3 hours of service, with a nice variety of tasks and time spent with the animals! In addition to the regular schedule, Sara has other projects that need to be done, and if you're willing to do extra hours, she will pay you. In my opinion, Sara offers a very fair and generous work exchange. At the end of my 3-week stay, I felt grounded and rested. I highly recommend her farm, and Cortes Island is a must-visit — there’s so much to do and there's a beautiful, warm community involved in every activity.

I am incredibly glad I chose your project for my first trip with WorkAway. I know I will forever keep you close to my heart. You have taught me things I will never want to unlearn. Even though I needed some time to adapt to the different lifestyle of Uganda, I eventually found myself enjoying every single day I spent at school and with the children. I was well taken care of and felt welcome almost immediately. Thank you for your trust and your generosity! To all future volunteers: I am not the most adventurous person and I often need time to get out of my shell. The older I get, the more of an introvert I become. Trust me however when I say, if you want to push yourself out of your comfort zone a little bit like I wanted to, this project is perfect for you. You will be getting a lot of (sometimes unwanted) attention and you will need some time to feel at home, however, no one pushes you or forces you to do anything you aren't comfortable with. You have enough time for yourself if you need to recharge and you can pick the tasks you think suit you best. There might be moments where you feel overwhelmed and lost but believe me when I say, this is part of the journey. Also, as soon as you meet the wonderful children at the School, you will realize that you made the right decision. The smiles, the laughter and the time spent together will make you feel whole and happy. You will quickly realize that time and attention is one of the greatest gifts a person can give. We had an absolutely incredible stay at Pristava, Chris made us feel welcome and at home immediately and communication was clear and easy throughout. Our roles were varied, exciting and challenging in the best way, and we met so many wonderful neighbours and friends getting a real feel for Slovenian culture. Some of our activities included sign making for a music concert, restoring a drum kit, sanding and polishing a table, and learning traditional Slovenian farming techniques! We were given the freedom to explore, learn and be inspired during our time at Pristava and we hope to return again and again. And August the dog was the best sidekick! This is really a beautiful place inside and out and that’s testament to Chris’s warmth and the way he makes people feel at home here. Thank you for hosting us!

We spent an unforgettable week in Klaten! We had a lot of free time in the morning so we explored many places around Klaten and Yogyakarta while in the afternoon and evening I was involved in English conversation class with Rani's students and it was such an enriching experience!! We discussed a lot with the students about habits, life, Indonesia, Europe and we exchanged about our cultures. Thanks to Bu Heni and Pak Tono for hosting us and taking care of Louis. We had a great time with you all!! Always laughing and having fun. See you again Rani, Bu Heni, Pak Tono!

We had a great time with Lucy & Ed (and Lea!) while they were staying with us. Ed and Lucy are a generous, helpful and laid-back people, who are great to be around! They also worked independently and diligently, which was perfect for us (and Lea kept an eye on things while angling for her next treat :D). We definitely wished they could have stayed longer. Can absolutely recommend this lovely couple to other hosts :)

Amazing place and experience, especially for those who are on the way of the heart. Meeting wonderful people living together with one core value in common: love. This is so meaningful experience, it can be even life changing. We had deep conversations about the nature of reality and spiritual realization, in this nurturing environment for body and soul. Staying here helped me coming back to myself and spending time in pure beingness, which is invaluable. Work hours were flexible, and I did various tasks mostly in the garden. I could visit many different beaches with in 2 weeks, with beautiful clear and soft water. And I ate more watermelon than I did in the last 5 years or more together. :) Thank you for your generous sharing in every way. Infinite Love & Blessings!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Where do I start? Staying with Sandrine was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. From the very first day, I didn’t feel like a guest, I felt like I was home. Her warmth, her generosity, her sense of humor, and her ability to create a real family atmosphere are just incredible. Sandrine is not only a brilliant French teacher but a truly inspiring human being. I learned so much from her, about language, culture, kindness, resilience, and how to live a life that truly matters. I’ll never be able to list everything she taught me. Her cats, her grown kids, the hens in the garden, the neighbors, the friends… they all welcomed me like one of their own. I came to help and ended up gaining a second family. Life here is full of surprises. One morning you’re drinking schnapps with her lovely neighbors, another you’re helping out at a Keta Keti charity event. You go for hikes, take freezing dips in mountain rivers, enjoy concerts, share meals, have deep conversations over tea, teaching English at the MJC with Shane,or just laugh in the garden while learning something new. This is not just a Workaway. It’s a window into the real Alsace — full of life, love, and meaning. As Josephine wrote in her review, this doesn’t feel like a volunteering experience. It feels like belonging. If you ever have the chance to spend time with Sandrine, grab it. Come with an open heart, and you’ll leave with it full. I will visit Sandrine as much as possible now that we are family, so we might bump into each other. Thank you, Sandrine, for everything. THANK YOU! Georges

What an amazing experience. I feel there's nothing I can write here that someone below has not already written. If you are lucky enough to be chosen by these hosts, you will undoubtedly have an amazing time. Thank you Ruth, Andrea and Jasmine for welcoming me into your home for an amazing three weeks eating and drinking some of the best things of my life. Although you have so many Workaways come through, you still made us feel like we were special and gave us so much of your time. I feel truely lucky and hope one day we see each other again :)

I had a great time staying with Mr Chilli Nilli and ghouly the cat in his beautiful house and garden, my only negative is that i could not stay for longer as I had already planned to go to the coast! Thank you for funny/interesting conversation, plenty of new card games and teaching me what Georgian Eggplant Rolls are, they will be added to my recipe book for sure. I hope I will get to come back one day again and not miss you DJing and Crazyland this time ;) ;)

The campsite Sara & Jomi are running was very busy due to high summer season and the tasks were only around cleaning and preparing cabins and laundry. Unfortunately the workload didn't allow much connection with the hosts but everything was still provided for food, comfort and clarity in tasks to do. I recommend this place for 2 persons interested in staying long periods so that they get a chance to experience its differents sides and/or with their own vehicle to be able to explore the surroundings!

Nils est venu à la maison pour nous aider dans l'entretien de la maison, en particulier du jardin. Il nous a aidé efficacement dans le désherbage, mais surtout nous a aidé à démonter une serre en structure métallique avec des parois en verre pour la remonter sur notre terrain. Il nous a fait partager sa culture en nous préparant quelques plats suédois. Nils est très respectueux, calme et discret. L'échange était parfait.
